Dhareshwar waterfall

Location

Close to the Marleshwar temple, which is situated in a cave, is the Dhareshwar waterfall. On Maker Sankranti every year, people of Konkan celebrate Marleshwar Yatra near Devukh. On this day, the wedding of Lord Marleshwar with goddess Girijadevi is celebrated. An amazing fact about this temple is that despite the presence of many snakes in and around the temple, no devotees have been bitten. This has resulted in an increase in the faith and number of devotees.

Tungabadhra Dam

Location

The Tungabhadra dam is constructed across the Tungabhadra River, a tributary of the Krishna River. The dam is located near the town of Hospet in Karnataka. It is a multipurpose dam or project serving irrigation, electricity generation, flood control, etc. This is a joint project of erstwhile Hyderabad state and erstwhile Madras Presidency when the construction was started but later it became joint project of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh after its completion in the year 1953.

Khurpatal

Location

Khurpatal is surrounding with bright hues of green and terraced farms that make it a very attractive town. It nestles a very small Lake named 'Khurpa Tal' or 'Trowel Lake' as it is shaped like a Trowel, small and deep. It is a short drive of 11 km from Nainital and if you hike by foot down here, it would cover only 5 km as you would be following a shorter trail. This town is set at a height of 1,635 mts above sea level.

Mussoorie Lake

Location

This lake is located some 7-kms on the highway to Dehradun. The gateway of this lake appears to be welcoming tourists from Dehradun. One can enjoy boating at this lake. One also gets a very good view of the Dun Valley from this lake. The villages surrounding Mussoorie can also be seen from here. A picnic spot that offers you a wide range of activities, from boating in pedal boats to the simple pleasures of a happy picnic near the lake, not to mention splendid views of the nearby places.

Bhatta Fall

Location

Have a refreshing bath beneath a natural water shower. Or splash around in one of several ponds located in the vicinity. Enjoy a picnic hamper as you regale yourself with the sights of the place. That’s Bhatta Fall, located near the Bhatta village, on the Mussoorie-Dehradun Road, 7 kms from Mussoorie.

Camel's back road

Location

A superb rock formation, with a life-like resemblance to a sitting camel, can be seen from this spot. If horse-riding or walking happens to be your choice of unwinding during a vacation, you should not muss Camel’s Back Road, a 3 km stretch from Kulri Bazaar to Library Bazaar. Along the way, stop by to see mesmerizing sights like the sun set as the golden sun seems to melt along the snow-laden slopes of the Himalayas, and the natural formation of rocks that give them a camel-like appearance – after which the road has got its name.

True to its name, this road is a stretch of 4 km and is a natural layout of rocks shaped like the camel’s hump back. The Camel’s Back road originates from Library point and leads straight to the Kulri Bazaar, and is visible from the Mussoorie Public School.
