Sundar Dhunga Glacier

Location

Located at an altitude 3880 m, the place is full of natural beauty, with picturesque view of many Himalayan ranges. The entire trek route is a treat for the eyes with beautiful locales strewn all over. Trekking routes remain open from April to October, though the best period is considered to extend from April to June, and from mid-September to November.

Neelkanth

Location

Soaring over the town of Badrinath at a height of 6600m is the snow-peaked Neelkanth Mountain, popularly known as the Garhwal Queen.

The Peak of Neelkanth at Sri Badrinath is the place where Lord Shiv went to meditate after having swallowed poison to save the world. We went on a trek to the base camp of Neelkanth and along the way was the most soul stirring natural beauty that we had ever seen. All the time we were following a sister river of the great Alaknanda.

There is a pass via Nelkanth to Goumukh and also to Sri Kedarnath.

Chattrakund

Location

While on trip to Gurso Bugyal, just a kilometre ahead is Chattrakund which you can easily include in your trip. In the centre of jungle is this sweet water lake called Chattrakund, the lake is small yet the view of a small beautiful lake is like a scene out fairy tale.

Trishul Peak

Location

One of the most ski-friendly ranges of Auli, the legendary Trishul peak is 23,490 feet high. Even before the ski resort tourism marked its debut on the slopes of Auli, the Trishul and other Auli peaks were used by the ski-equipped patrolling officers of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force as a training ground. It is said that in a 1958 expedition to scale the Trishul Peak, it took the mountaineers four days to climb and just 90 minutes to ski down to their base camp. There is a lake, Roopkand, at the bottom of the slopes of Trishul Peak.

Bright End Corner

Location

Laidback, bright and quiet, this place became famous for excellent sight of sunset and sunrise. The rising moon and the sinking sun, brilliant scenes of orangish red squeezing the drops of nature’s movements are spectacular from Bright End Corner. There is really a beautiful view obtained of dawn and dusk.

The unusual calm and peacefulness during this time is distinction of this hill station. One can enjoy the beauty true to its spirit staying at the serene and calm circuit houses very close to this point.

Lake Bhimtal

Location
