ISKCON Chandrodaya Temple

Location

Chandrodaya temple is the first temple established in Mayapur by International Society for Krishna Conciousness (ISKON). It is established under the revered guidance of Lord Mahaprabhu. The temple is dedicated to Lord Radha Krishna and the idol of Radha-Krishna with eight gopis surrounding is extremely attractive. The temple structure is marvelous and the atmosphere is vibrant with chants of Hare Rama Hare Krishna.

Chand Kazi's Samadhi

Location

Chand Kazi’s Samadhi is one of the prime attractions in Mayapur. Chand Kazi, a person with Islamic faith, was the magistrate of Navadvipa. Chand Kazi opposed to Harinam Sankirtana movement in Mayapur. Kazi with his people broke the mridanga of Srivash Pandit, who led the Sankitana. Later Kazi became an ardent disciple of Shree Chaitanya Prabhu as a result of the devotional miracles by prabhu.

Ambotia Shiva Mandir

Location

This temple is located within the Ambootia Tea Estate area. It has an old temple thronged by many devotees.
Kurseong has quite a few well known temples in and around the town and the Ambotia Shiva Mandir is one of the most popular Hindu temples in Kurseong. The Ambotia Shiva Mandir is at a distance of about 5 km from Kurseong town and is located in the Ambotia Tea Estate.

St Paul's Cathedral

Location

The strong presence of Christianity is felt in Kolkata through the presence of churches and the world famous “Missionaries of Charities‿ of Mother Teresa. The St Paul’s Cathedral is one such monument which was constructed in 1847 and still stands tall. Situated at the heart of the city near Vitoria Memorial the Cathedral draws many eyeballs mainly due to its Indo-Gothic design and remarkable beautiful architecture.

Parashnath Jain Temple

Location

The multifarious yet united outlook of the city of Kolkata is evident from the variety of places of worship which have coexisted since centuries. The Parashnath Jain Temple located at the northeast of the city of Kolkata is one such example. The temple has been standing proudly since its construction in 1867 by Ray Badridas Bahadur, an art connoisseur.

The temple adorned by beautiful mirrors arrangements and colored stones fixed on the walls. The Parashnath Jain temple also plays host to a small museum which holds few memorabilia of Jainism and literature regarding the religion. The temple surroundings have been decorated using stained glass, marble floor and exquisite European style statues in the adjoining garden.

Nakhoda Mosque

Location

The Land of Bengal has been a mute witness to many fights for supremacy. The fight between the Muslim rulers and the British is one of them. The telltale signs of Muslim dominance come in the form of the Nakhoda Mosque, which considered as one of the biggest mosques in India. Initially though, a small construction, it was later restructured in 1926 by Abdar Rahim Osman, a rich merchant from Kutch. The mosque boasts of a similar structure to that of the tomb of Akbar at Sikandra.

Birla Temple

Location

The Birla temples have become a landmark in cities where the temples have been erected. The creative architectural designs, liberal use of high cost raw material and aesthetic surroundings combine to form the pristine Birla temple, also known by the Hindu worshipers as the Lakshmi Narayan Temple.

Belur Math

Location
