The Birla temples have become a landmark in cities where the temples have been erected. The creative architectural designs, liberal use of high cost raw material and aesthetic surroundings combine to form the pristine Birla temple, also known by the Hindu worshipers as the Lakshmi Narayan Temple.
Marbles slabs were used to adorn the surfaces of the temple. These slabs depict the teachings of Lord Krishna which were imparted to Arjuna during the Bhagavad-Gita epic. The temple has been built on a slightly higher ground and is beautifully decorated with lights thus making it a remarkable landmark of Kolkata. Temple timings are 0500-1500hr and 1700-2200hr.
