Chintpurni temple

Location

It is located on Dharamshala-Hoshiarpur road on a ridge. Thousand of devotees visit this temple. The main fair is held during the 10 days of "Shukalpaksh" in August. In addition to many religious festivals. There is a Yatri Niwas which is managed by Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation.

Yamunotri Temple

Location

Perched at an altitude of 3030 meters at the lofty Kalind Parvat, Yamunotri temple at the holy banks of River Yamuna is one of the four dhams in India. Originally built in the 19th century, this temple has been destroyed due to natural calamities twice. Dedicated to River Yamuna, the presiding deity is portrayed in the form of a silver idol bejeweled with garlands.

Surya Kund

Location

As a testimonial to the mythological belief that the Sun is the father of River Yamuna,Yamuothri houses a hot water spring whose temperature is 1900 F. This hot water spring is known as Surya Kund that lies very near to the holy shrine of Yanmunothri.

Devotees fasten rice and potatoes in a cotton cloth, and dip it in the water to be cooked. The water is so warm that the food gets prepared within few minutes. This cooked food is the main offering in the temple. A hot water spring in the precincts of snowy strengthens one's faith in the spirituality of the place.

Saptarishi Kund

Location

A natural lake that happens to be the most enthralling spot in Yamunotri, Saptarishi Kund is regarded as the origin of Yamuna River. At an altitude of 4421 meters, this scenic spot is not easily accessible and it is considered as one among the most tedious treks in the Himalayas. A 10 kilometers awfully difficult journey covered with ice from Yamunotri. The exotic sight scenery of skating of the chirping flock through the snow covered ponds makes the trip a haunting memory.

Divya Shila

Location

A powerful rock pillar located near the Surya Kund at Yamunotri, Divya Shila presents a ethereal feeling to the devotees. It is conventional that all the devotees should make poojas here at Divya Shila before they enter Yamunotri. Though the voyage is quite tiresome, it would fetch the devotees with a unique experience of divinity and holiness, which would help them to forget all their pain and suffering.

Devi-Sthan

Location

A temple of a Hindu goddess located on a hillock near the Sumendu lake.

Devi-Sthan is a temple located in the densely forested region of Dhupi Forest. It is situated on the banks of the lake and is dedicated to Goddess Singha Devi. The temples of Lord Hanuman, Lord Shiva and Goddess Kali are some of the attractions located on the banks of the lake. The Bokar Ngedon Chokhor Ling Monastery and the Tibetan Buddhist Monastery are other attractions near Devi-Sthan.
The small temple, situated under dense foliage of the 'dhupi' forest, is considered very holy by the local.

Yoga Peeth

Location

Shree Chaitanya Yoga Peeth is a centre of attraction in Mayapur. It is a temple constructed at the birth place of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. The architectural beauty of this marvelous structure is amazing. The white marbled huge tower welcomes the pilgrims to the amazing world of religious activities.

Yoga Peeth in Mayapur is a center of excellence teaching Yoga, Vedas and meditation. It is assumed that Chaitanya was born under a neem tree. This tree is still seen there in the premise of Yoga Peeth. There is a hut which contains the clay models and statues displaying the life and philosophies of Saint.

Sri Chaitanya Math

Location

Chaitanya Math is a temple complex in Mayapur. It was established by the Founder Acharya of the Gaudiya Math named Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Maharaja. The Math is dedicated to Radha Govinda. The math has four altars dedicated to the Vaishnava acharyas namely Sri Nimbarka, Sri Madhvacarya, Sri Ramanujacarya and Sri Visnuswami.
