Gobind Vallabh Pant Public Museum on Mall Raod, near the bus stand in Almora is home rich and rare collections of the Katyuri and Chand dynasties. The museum also has a rare collection of Aspen folk painting.

Govind Vallabh Pant Public Museum situated on the Mall Road in Almora showcases rich and unique collections of items of archaeological, historic and cultural significance. The precious articles belong to the Katyuri and Chand dynasties are also displayed here.

This museum is near the bus stand . It is closed on Mondays and other Government Holidays. It is open from 10:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.

A rich butterfly museum, at Jones Estate, is a major tourist attraction of Sat Tal, with over 2,500 species of butterflies and 1100 species of insects that are native to the Kumaoni region. The museum was established by Federic Smetacek, better known as ‘the butterfly man’.

The Government Museum is situated besides the main bus stand in Lakshmanaswamy Town Hall. The museum is under the watch of Department of Museums.
