Hansi is an ancient fort town which played an integral role in Haryana's history. It is said that the city was once home to a sword manufacturing company, which was set up the King Prithviraj Chauhan. The swords that were made here were exported to the Middle East and were known for its high quality. Having changed rulers several times it also experienced different cultures from Hindu to Islamic to British.

Faridabad, bordered by the Yamuna to the east and Aravali Hills towards the west and southwest, is a bustling industrial town, bounded by the National Capital Territory of Delhi on its north. It is widely believed that Baba Farid, an eminent Sufi saint, founded Faridabad. It is now famous for its tourist resorts, refugees laid down the initial infrastructure.

Tura, is a large town present in a valley and it is surrounded by hills, with a picturesque relatively untouched landscape of hills against a backdrop of low lying plains, with the mighty river Brahmaputra making sweeping curves as it flows towards Bangladesh. It is truly a paradise for nature lovers for capturing the mesmerizing beauty of nature. It is a gateway to some places such as Nokrek, Balpakram and Siju Caves.

Nartiang, holding sheer archaeological and historic importance, is a beautiful place in the Jaintia Hills. It is dotted with several monoliths and majority of them are located near the local market Mawlong and thus rightly earned title 'Garden of Monoliths'. It was once the headquarters of the Jaintia Kings. The village is famous for a cluster of monoliths of which the tallest is said to have been the walking stick of U Mar Phalyngki, the Goliath of Jaintia legend.

Jowai is a land mark town in Meghalaya, is located on top of a plateau which is surrounded on three sides by the Myntdu river boredering Bangladesh. It is blessed with good rainfall, glorious sunshine, lush green vegetation, towering plateaus, mesmerizing valleys, romantic rivers and enchanting waterfalls.

Jakrem, fast gaining popularity among tourists, is a wonderful health resort blessed with hot-springs of sulphur water which lure people from across the globe. It is believed that the water of the hot springs is endowed with curative medicinal properties.

Cherrapunji, also known as "The Land Synonymous With Rain", is the wettest place in the world is a big hit with tourists. The town is locally known as Cherra. The town is not only unique in its geographical features but is also unique in its culture. According to the 'matriarchal' culture in the town, after the marriage the husband goes to live with his wife's family at her place. Their children take on the surname of the mother.

Yercaud is the only hill station in the Eastern Ghats near Salem in the Servarayan range of hills (anglicized as Shevaroys). It got its name from the Tamil words, yeri and kaadu, meaning lake and forest respectively. The place offers great views of the hills descending into the thickly forested plains below. The slopes of the hills are filled with tantalizing scents of coffee, fruits and spices.

Yercaud has also been called the “Ooty of the Poor” as it is one of the least expensive hill stations in India.
