Sainik School

Location

The Sanik School is a magnificent piece of architecture that took 8 years to complete(1900-1908). This erstwhile palace of Maharaja Jagatjit Singhwas designed by the French architect M. Marcel. Inspired by the palaces of Versailles and Fontainebleau, it was built in renaissance style with the sunken park in the front (known as Baija). Its plaster of Paris figures and painted ceilings are the finest representations of French art and architecture.

Pushpa Gujral Science City

Location

In 2005, the Governor of Punjab, Lt. Gen (retd) S.F Rodrigues, inaugurated the Pushpa Gujral Science City or simply known as the Science City. A joint venture between the state government and the Government of India, located on Jalandhar-Kapurthala, Highway. This project has been designed as an institution of excellence, for meeting both educational and recreational purposes. Despite being a recent development, it is now fast promoting itself as a tourist attraction, providing facilities for an informal science education through a more recreational aspect.

Randhir College

Location

It is among Punjab's first education institutions and was set up in 1856 by Maharaja Ranjit Singh in Kapurthala. It started as a leading Sanskrit institute, to promote education in one of Punjab's richest state. In 1896 it achieved the status of an intermediate college and in 1945 it was made a degree college. From time to time, various disciplines have been introduced in the college curriculum. English was introduced in 1968, economics in 1976, B.Com. in 1986 and B.Sc. in 1991.

Location

A modern center of Buddhist thought set up by the Bihar Government, in the year 1951 Nava Nalanda Vihar tries to spread the ancient tradition to the modern generation. The institute is located at the famous lotus pond in Bihar. The centre mainly dealt with research-oriented education in the Pali script and Buddha religion.

Sri Sathya Sai University

Location

Deemed University Sri Sathya Sai University, was founded by Sathya Sai Baba in November 1981. Formerly known as the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, was renamed as the Sri Sathya Sai University, and Sai Baba himself is the chancellor of the institute. This University has three campuses in India and the education is based on the Gurukula system. Being a center of excellence, this university is regarded as on of the best educational institutions in the country.
