Sri Mahaprabhu Temple

Location

Sri Mahaprabhu Temple is located at Srivasa Angan. Srivasa Angan is believed to be birth place of Harinama-sankirtana. This temple is in the premise of Sri Srivasa Thakura and is very close to Yogapitha in Navadvipa.

The temple has three shrines. First temple is dedicated to Sri Sri Radha Krishna and Lord Chaitanya. Second shrine is dedicated to Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu during His maha-prakasa-lila. It is believed that during this period he got the divine intimation of being the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Third temple is dedicated to Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai.

Temple timings: 8.30am to 11am and 3.30pm to 8.30pm.

Radharani Temple

Location

The Radha Rani temple situated majestically in the holy city of Navadvipa. The temple is dedicated to the consort Radha of Lord Krishna. The Radha Rani idol is marvelous and is decorated with many jewels and flowers. The chanting of Krishna devotional songs is heard all through the day in this temple.
Devotees throng to this temple all through the year, especially on poornima (full moon) day in every month. It is believed that it is a perfect place where one can fill the heart with satisfaction and enjoyment through the holy darshan and blessing of Radha Rani.

Kapil Muni temple

Location

The temple of Kapil Muni is situated on the Sagar Island of Sagardwip and is dedicated to Kapil Muni, one of the sages of Hindu legend. Most of the temples of Sagardwip were destroyed by a tornado, which also included the Kapil Muni Temple of Sagar Island. However, in 1961, the chief minister of Bengal, Shri B.C.Roy made efforts to set up this temple again, which was the fourth attempt to do so. This construction got completed in the year 1973.

Salugara Monastery

Location

Salugara Monastery, a sacred Buddhist destination near to Siliguri, was established by Tibetal Buddhist Monks, the followers of the Tibetan religious leader Dalai Lama. The attractive feature of this monastery is the 100 feet stupa founded by the Tibetan Lama, Kalu Rinpoche. The stupa brings out five kinds of relics and is really worth to be revered.

The Monastery is an ideal tranquil location for meditation. The shrine is nestled among the lush green forests and hilly terrains. The surroundings offer a great sense of spiritual peace and the monastery is a perfect spot for staying away from hustle and bustle of city life. This place offers rejuvenating effects on mind and body.

Kali Mandir

Location

Sevokeshwari Kali Mandir is an ancient temple located very close to Coronation Bridge in Siliguri and located in Binnaguri nearby to the shore of River Teesta. The temple enshrines Goddess Durga in her Kali form. Adorning majestic jewels and arms equipped with sword and armory, the image of Goddess has a unique appearance in this temple.

The temple is set in the backdrop of picturesque surroundings. The abundance of foliage, lush green environments and cool pleasant breeze from the Teesta River make the temple a great tourist and religious spot. One can view the majesty of the Kanchenjunga peak from the premises of the temple.

This temple attracts thousands of pilgrims every year and the period of Durga Pooja and Navarathri showcase many attractive processions and shows.

ISKCON Temple

Location

An august reflection of serenity and sublime beauty, ISCKON temple in Siliguri attracts thousands of people into its lap. International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), also known as Hare Krishna Movement, manages the temple with dedication and reverence.

The temple enshrines Radha Madhav idol, an image of Lord Krishna with his romantic wife Radha. The temple houses many beautiful idols of Advaita Acharya, Lord Narasimha, Lord Chaitanya and many more.

Damodar Temple

Location

The most famous tourist attraction of Siuri is the ancient Damodar Temple. It is believed to have been built almost 200 years earlier. The temple is 10.7 m high and is adorned with terracotta designs. Dedicated to the Hindu deities, Radha and Krishna, the temple has a wall plate displaying their emblems.
