Dil Kushal

Location

Dil Kushal is one of the largest portions of the City Palace. This palace, assumed to be added by Maharana Karan in a later period, is considered to be built for the Royal females. Zenana Mahal, the palace of queens, is placed at the southern end of Dil Kushal. The Palce itself placed in beautiful surroundings overlooking the serene Pichola Lake.

Laxmi Chowk

Location

Laxmi Chowk is considered as the Courtyard of Goddess Lakshmi. This courtyard is constructed for the Royal lady folks and it is the main courtyard of Queen’s Palace, the Zanana Mahal. It is a well laid Courtyard with many flowering plants and greenish lawns.

Laxmi Chowk is a gateway to other main palaces of city palace; It gives access to Badal mahal and rang Bhawan. This imposing courtyard displays a fine collection of beautiful paintings. Many tourists visit this Zanana Mahal courtyard and the evenings are extremely beautiful.

Lachhmangarh

Location

One of the most imposing forts in the Shekhawati region, Lachhmangarh commands a bird’s eye view of the town modeled to resemble the city plan of Jaipur. Founded in the early 19th century by Raja Lachhman Singh of Sikar, the town has some lovely havelis.

Fatehpur

Location

Founded in mid-15th century by Fateh Khan - a Kayamkhani Nawab, the town is noted for unmatched frescoes. Its central location attracted many wealthy merchants and hassome exquisite havelis, which are a combination of the Indian and the western styles. Of particular note among these are the Chamariya and Singhania havelis.

Jhunjhunu

Location

Offering peace and serenity to its visitors, is the town of Jhunjhunu. It is another town famous for its marvelously painted havelis. One of the known havelis is the Modi Haveli, housing some of the best paintings of the Shekhawati area. Then, there is also the Tibrewala Haveli, having numerous murals on it, along with colored glass windows. Amongst the other tourist attractions of Jhunjhunu, are Khetri Mahal (18th century), Bihariji Temple and Mertani Baori (step-well). All of these stand adorned with exquisite paintings.

Dundlod

Location

Amongst the other places to see in Shekhawati, is the town of Dundlod, situated in the center of the Shekhawati region. The main attractions of the town are its fort and havelis, dating back to the 18th century. The famous havelis of Dundlod are Jagathia and Goenka havelis.

Khandar Fort

Location

This magnificent fort is positioned approximately 40 kms from the city. Tourists from all over the world often frequent it.

During Medieval India, this fort was regarded as ‘security post of Ranthambore’. Sisodia Kings of Mewar ruled this fort for several years. Khandar Fort also features two massive water tanks. They are Ramkunda and Laxmankunda. Do not miss the beautifully carved Hawa Mahal. While your trip to Khandar Fort, a few must visit places are Chaturbhuja temple, Rani Mahal etc. Narsingha Dhar at Khandar Fort is an immensely popular picnic spots.
