Kandla Port

Location

Kandla Port, a national port, is one of the eleven most important ports of India. This port is situated on Kandla stream. The first investigation of this stream was undertaken by the British Royal India Navy in 1851 and a detailed survey done in 1922. This port is developed by Joint project of Maharao Shree Khengarji-III and British Government in the 19th century. Standard dry cargo treatment capacity of Kandla Port is 24,000 metric tons per day.

Gabbar hill

Location

The famous mountain Gabbar is situated on the border of States of Gujarat and Rajasthan, near the flow of the origin of the famous Vedic virgin river Sarasvati, on the hills of Arasur in forest, towards south-west side to ancient hills of Arvalli.

The original seat of Ambaji Mata is on Gabbar Hill top, which is 3 Kms away from Ambaji town. Ambaji Mata temple at Gabbar is very ancient, origin of which is lost in antiquity. It is believed that Goddess Amba was one of the deities of Pre-Aryan race, which Aryans absorbed in their pantheon. On the Gabbar Hill the footsteps of Goddess are imprinted. The imprint of her chariot is also found here. It is believed that the tonsure ceremony of Lord Krishna also took place here.

Vastrapur Lake

Location

A pictorial lake in a lustrous environment is a joyful visa and Vastrapur lake in the western part of Ahmedabad is one of such alluring location. Encircled by all around greenery vastrapur lake is a must see spectacle in the city. Green lawns in the surrounding happen to be the most popular podium of various cultural events. A garden with elaborate stonework is an added attraction here.

Kankaria Lake

Location

Kankaria Lake is an artificial lake dates back to the time of Sultans, Kankaria in the south east region of Ahmedabad is a crowd puller in recent times. It was constructed by Sultan Qutab-ud-Din in 1451 AD. Formerly known as Hauj-e-Qutub, this lake was the bathing ghat of late Sultans and their queens. Mughal Emperor Jahangir and his empress wife Noor Jahan frequently visited the lake.

Sukhna Lake

Location

Sukhna Lake is an artificial lake that has a two kilometer long pedestrian walk for strolling. On the lakefront during the morning and evening, fitness freaks of various age groups can be found jogging, walking, performing yoga or vigorous exercises. This lake has the longest water channel in Asia for yachting or rowing.

Kanjli Wetland

Location

In the serene vicinity of rivulet of Bein is located, the Kanji Lake. It is a beautiful home of migratory birds in the winter. The place has the entire infrastructure for a great fishing and boating holiday for the tourists. The wetland extends over an area of about 50 acres and is a habitat for about 40 bird species. Kanjli was declared a wetland of national importance in 1992 for the rich biodiversity it supported.

Jaranda Falls

Location

The most picturesque waterfall in the Simlipal National Park and breathtaking attraction, Jaranda falls is located at the core region of Simlipal. Surrounded by thick vegetation, cool climate with whistling winds, this wonderful place is a marvelous picnic spot for spending hours enjoying the picturesque views of Mother Nature. The waterfall plunging from a height of 150 m is captivating and the pool formed at the bottom is ideal for experiencing the enjoyment of bath under the waterfall.
