Valley View Point

Location

Valley View Point, also known as Sunrise Point, is a peak in Saputara, from where one can get a marvelous bird’s eye view of the down Saputara valley. Adventurous traveler need to make a tiresome climb of about 1.5 km to reach this spot. Picturesque surroundings with cool breeze offer an envious picnic location at the mount. Townview Point

Location

As the name suggests Town view point is a peat in the Saputara hill ranges from where one can see the whole city down in Saputara. See the scenic colorful beauty of the Saputara from this spot in a calm clear night, the town illuminated with multi color lights. One can relax at the top edge of this point under clear sky, enjoying the fragrance of woody forests surrounding the town view point. Cool climate and mild breeze make this place an attractive vacation spot to relax.

Sunset Point

Location

An awesome view of sunset is the spectacular attraction of Sunset point, also known as Gandhi Shikhar (peak), in Saputara and is at a walkable distance from the heart of the town. This point provides a breath taking view of the surrounding tribal villages in their natural splendor and also an aerial view of wide spans of Dang Forest. The dense forest surrounding Saputara is dotted with picturesque scenes and many tribal villages. One can reach this marvelous sunset point by using the ropeway or by climbing the hills.

Saputara Lake

Location

Saputara Lake, a serene and secluded picnic spot, is placedright at the heartland of Saputara valley. The lake is on the base of Saputara hill station and is placed perfectly on the picturesque hilly surroundings. The surroundings of the lake are provided with many facilities for merry making, especially with children’s parks and play grounds.

Gira Falls

Just 52 km from Saputara, a majestic waterfall called Gira falls is there with an amazing view. There are also camp sights organized by forest department near Gira falls making the place as an excellent excursion site especially during the months of June to November. There is a beautiful botanical garden nearby with variety of plants and trees, providing a marvelous view of different varieties of Bamboo trees.

Forest Nursery

Location

Forest Nursery in Saputara offers many varieties of plants and trees. The nursery is run by the forest department. Many flowered plants can be spotted here; different varieties of Hibiscus flowers are attracting many visitors. Saplings of fruit trees, flowered plants, creepers and many other trees are showcased here and one can purchase these saplings for a moderate price. All the saplings sold out from here have assured quality. The nursery is set up in a beautiful surroundings.

Echo Point

Location

Echo Point, as the name highlights it is the place where one can hear the echo of what he says, is located in Matheran near Saputara. It is one of the prime tourist attractions nearby to Saputara. The Echo point offers a exquisite picturesque surroundings with many waterfalls, enhancing the breath taking beauty of the location. Tourists pour in here to make an unforgettable experience of wild natural beauty. The atmosphere is calm and cool. There are many spectacular tourist spots; some are Louisa Point, Charlotte Lake, and King George Point.

Sahastralinga Talav

Location

Sahastralinga Talav, an artificial tank, was built by the Siddhraj Jaisingh (1093 -1143 AD), the Chalukyan ruler of Gujarat in Patan. This tank is situated on the north-western part of Patan, on the banks of the Saraswati river. The architecture of this tank integrated the great sense of water management and sanctity of water in Hindu religion. The tank used to receive water from a canal of the Saraswati river and had spread about five km with masonry embankments.
