Talpukur Tank

Location

Talpukur is a holy tank (pond or lake) in Jairambati. It is located near to the Simhavahini temple in the south-east region of the village. This is a serene tank, which is used for many purposes of water by the village folks. Devotees to the temple use the pond to get refreshed themselves before paying offerings to the temple. The tank is located in picturesque surroundings.

The banks of the tank are unpolluted and suitable for spending calm moments in evenings. Many villages visit this place and spend their days in vacations enjoying the cool natural beauty of the lake.

Simhavahini Temple

Location

The Simhavahini temple is placed at a place in which Holy Mother Sarada Devi undertook fasting to get curing from an acute disease. Goddess Simhavahini is enshrined in this temple. The temple atmosphere is inviting. It is believed that Goddess Simhavahini appeared in front of Sarada Devi and her mother in the form of a back smith girl of 12 years old. The girl advised Sarada Devi about the remedial medicines for the diseases.

Sihar Shiva Temple

Location

Shihar Shiva Temple is the most popular temple among the devotees of Sri Ramakrishna and Holy Mother. It was at this place Shihar, the little cute girl Sarada revealed her desire to marry Young Ramakrisna pointing to him, when somebody asked playfully whom she would like to marry. Shihar is a beautiful hamlet in which many relatives of Ramakrishna including his nephew Hriday Ram Mukhopadhyaya lived.

Mother's Tank

Location

Jairambati is an agricultural village and the main source of irrigation is a serene lake known as Mother Tank. This big lake is the lifeline of the village. The tank is used for bathing, washing and irrigation. Visitors and village folks get themselves refreshed by taking bath in the lake and also by spending the leisure times on the banks of the lake. It is believed that Holy Mother spent her daytime on the banks of this lake by cutting grass for the cows. The tank is revered as a holy tank by the devotees of Sri Ramakrishna.

Matri Mandir

Location

Matri Mandir is an imposing temple in Jairambati. The temple stands at the same place where the holy mother took birth. The original home of her father was exactly at this place. It is dedicated to the Holy Mother, Sarada Devi. The temple was built in 1923 and the marble image of Holy Mother was installed here in 1954. The temple enshrines a beautiful image of Holy Mother made out of marble. Daily puja and worshipping is performed here. The holy relics of the Sarada Devi are encrypted in the Sanctum Sanctorum of the temple.

Jairambati Math

Location

Jairambati math, also known, as Ramakrishna Mission Sarada Sevashrama Yogashrama is located at the heart of the Jairambati. It is a very peaceful retreat for those looking for seclusion. People can go on enjoying the religious and cultural ambiance of the Math. One can engage in meditation, cultural activities and religious activities in this Math. The Math observes many religious and cultural ceremonies in almost all the days. Thousands of Ramakrishna devotees visit this place every year.

Dharma Thakur Temple

Location

Dharma- Thakur Temple is an old styled temple dedicated to the presiding Deity of the village, Dharma Thakur. It is a small thatched house with mud walls. It is placed at the North West corner of Punya Tank. In one room Dharma is worshiped in the form of a tortoise, known as Sundarnarayana. Tortoise is considered as one of the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu.

There is one more Dharma Thakur temple nearby known as 'Yatra-Siddhi Ray'. It is the family worshiping place of Ghosh family. The temple is a Narayana temple and is believed that Dharma Thakur is one form of Lord Narayana.

Gopaljew temple

Location

Gopaljew temple situated within the Mahishadal estate was constructed in 1778 by the Queen Janaki Devi. It is dedicated to Lord Krishna and within the compound are two Shiva Temple, Natmandir and Jagannath temple.

Gopaljew Temple is one of the renowned shrines, housed inside the estate of Mahishadal. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna, called as Gopalji, whose sculpture is one of the attractions of the temple. According to historians, the shrine was established by Rani Janaki in 1778.

Bargabhima Temple

Bargabhima Temple, to honor the Goddess Tara, another incarnation of Goddess Kali. Legends proclaim Goddess Bargabhima created Tamralipta, an ancient sea port. It was built in the 5th century B.C.

Smriti Soudha is one of the most frequented sites in the city of Haldia. The four-storey building, painted with yellow, is positioned on the way to Mechada from Haldia. Founded in 1986, Smriti Soudha is one of the renowned repositories of Kolkata.
