Shihar Shiva Temple is the most popular temple among the devotees of Sri Ramakrishna and Holy Mother. It was at this place Shihar, the little cute girl Sarada revealed her desire to marry Young Ramakrisna pointing to him, when somebody asked playfully whom she would like to marry. Shihar is a beautiful hamlet in which many relatives of Ramakrishna including his nephew Hriday Ram Mukhopadhyaya lived.
It is believed that the Shiva Linga in this temple was worshipped by Sri Ramakrishna and Holy Mother regularly. The temple is located at a calm environment and the religious ambiance of the temple attracts many devotees to this place.
