Ram Mandir or Lord Ram's Temple

Location

A well-maintained temple, owned by the Goenka business family and in the Graphite India's premise in Durgapur. It has a statue of Lord Ram, Laxman, Sita and Hanumaan. The hanumaan statue is small, places in front of other three, worshipping them. The temple is made of marble and the statues are beautifully decorated.
The temple is surrounded by a garden beautifully maintained with flower plants and trees.

Rahreswar Shibtola

Location

Rahreswar Shibtola, also known as Rahreswar Shib Mandir, is a temple complex in Durgapur. This mandir is 800 years old as per the Archaeological Survey of India. It is built in the style of Rathas (Chariots) of Southern India.

This mandir is blessed with lovely serene environment and one can devote self to solitude in this nice beautiful mandir, to relieve from worldly sufferings. This temple complex attracts many visitors due to its archaeological value and cultural heritage.

Ghoom Monastery

Location

Called Sakya Monastery, the monastery in Ghoom is located 8 km from Darjeeling. Sakya monastery is a historic as well as significant monastery of the Shakya Order. The original monastery was built during the early twentieth century.

The monastery can accommodate around sixty monks. The statue of Maithreya Buddha (meaning “The Coming Buddha‿), which is 4.57 meter high, of this monastery is of interest here. The monastery also preserves some of the rarest Buddhist manuscripts.

Dhirdham Temple

Location

The Dhirdham temple is located below the railway station. The temple resembles the famous Pasupathinath Temple of Kathmandu. It was built in 1939. A statue of Lord Shiva is present outside of the temple depicting “Pancha Bakram Tri Netram‿—five different facial expressions in different moods and the Third Eye of Lord Shiva are depicted. The temple’s roof is influenced by Tibetan architectural style.

Aarthis are held at 8 am and 6 pm.
