State Museum

Location

The State Museum at Babu Tlang is worth visiting and one can have a glimpse of Mizo dresses, implements, historic relics, and other traditional items. The mini zoo has some rare Asian animals in it and the most important one is the endangered sun bear. The Cultural Sub-Center is a good retreat center from the cacophony of modern life and is provided with modern amenities, while providing alluring natural sights. There are a few other attractions as well. These include the zoological garden, Bung picnic spot, MAHCO Showroom, Treasury Square, Vengthlang, and Bethlehem.

Visakha Museum

Location

Visakha Museum is set up in a 150 year old Dutch bungalow and is located close to the shores of R.K.(Ramakrishna) Beach. The museum provides a peek into Visakhapatnam's history. The collection includes armory, coins, silk costumes, portraits, shells of unexploded bombs, letters, diaries, map, periodicals, among other items.

Submarine Museum

Location

The Submarine Museum is the first such museum in Asia and is built around a real, decomissioned, submarine of the Indian Navy. The submarine - name INS Karasura, previously procured from Russia. A tour of the submarine provides insight into its inner workings and the lifestyle and challenges endured by its sailors. The museum is manned by retired naval employees.

Naval Museum

Location

Naval Museum also known as Swarna Jyoti Museum, a museum about Indian Maritime history, located in the ENC complex in Visakhapatnam is established in 1989. It’s a lovely museum portraying the events related to the Indian Maritime history, pictures and models of warships and other equipments. The museum provides a viewpoint of the maritime history, naval heritage and the growth of the Navy from pre-independence days.

Victoria Museum

Location

A place worth for archaeology enthusiasts, Victoria Museum, the museum of the Archaeological Department, has a cautiously conserved gathering of ancient sculptures, idols, inscriptions, paintings, cutlery and weapons. This Victoria Jubilee Museum is located on Bundar Road in Vijayawada. It also exhibits pre-historic stone tools, coins, arms, metal works, Neolithic and Microlithic implements.

The major attractions in this museum are the mammoth granite statue of Buddha and the white limestone beautiful figure of Buddha in standing position brought from Alluru.

Spiritual Museum

Location

Situated next to the administrative block of the University, the Spiritual Museum upholds one of the fundamental principles of Sai Baba’s teachings. This heritage museum exhibits all those artifacts, which helps to promote the unity of all religions. The objects put on display showcases the basic principles of all major religious convictions along with the preaching of saintly men.
