Kolhua Hill

Location

Kolhua Hill can be reached from Hunterganj by crossing the Lilangen River or by trekking from the village. This hill is located at an altitude of 1,575 ft and gives a distinctive sky eye view known as Akash Lochan. It is also famous for the Kolhua Mela, which is held twice a year at the hill top.

Kolhua Mela is a religious fair, which is celebrated at the Kauleshwari Devi Temple. It is celebrated on the eve of Ram Navami and Magh Vasanth Panchami. For reaching this temple, tourists have to trek to the hill top, as the roads are very steep.

Satoi Range

Location

Satoi Range is one of the only remaining virgin forests in Zunheboto district. This range is surrounded by lush green trees and vegetation. Tourists can enjoy sightings of Blyth's Tragopan, a rare bird species in this range. Rare rhododendrons can be spotted in this range during the months of April and May. This range offers facility for camping and trekking.

Tukla Valley

Location

Tukla Valley, which is located at an elevation of around 12,500 feet, is another well known valley of Zuluk. This valley contains the famous war memorial, which was constructed to commemorate the death of British soldiers who died in the Battle of Tukla. Tourists can also explore Jelep La Pass that is situated close to this attraction.

Cho-Lhamu Lake

Location

Cho-Lhamu Lake is at an elevation of more than 18,000 ft above sea level. The Teesta River originates from the Cho Lhamu Lake. According to ‘The Wetland Atlas’ introduced by the Ministry of Environment, the Cho Lhamu Lake has been declared as the world’s sixth highest lake and the highest lake in India.
