Lucknow Residency and Museum

Location

Yet another interesting construction by the erstwhile Nawab of Oudh, Saadat Ali Khan Lucknow Residency is a cluster of builds that were constructed in 1800 AD. It was built as the residence of the British Resident General, who was the company representative to the Nawab’s court. Residency buildings are placed on the beautiful banks of Gomati River and are encircled by lovely flowerbeds and vibrant lawns. Residency Building had a remarkable place in the freedom struggle of India, since it was here that the mutineers siege thousands of Englishmen and their family members. Month long cease fire claimed the lives of so many people. The bricks of the building echo the sad stories of the lost lives.

Archaeology Museum

Location

Archaeological museum of Kannauj have vast variety of clayey idols which proves that at ancient time Kannauj was famous for art and culture like Mathura, Kashi and Kaushambi. Right from Maurya age it was a fully developed locality. The clay models found here shows that it was a very progressive district of ancient time, even Historical Chinese visitor Hwenswang praised this district during his visit to India.

Government Museum

Location

One of the daunting sights to be visited in Jhansi is the State Museum, which is established in the year 1978. Its pictorial location and vast collection of artifacts gained it accolades from the people from all walks of life. This museum showcases superb compilations of various artifacts belonged to the Chandela rulers.
