The thread garden is an extremely unusual garden to visit. This garden contains flowers and plants, but remarkably these flowers and plants are not real Not only are they fake, but they are made of thread. These thread flowers and plants are not even created using a machine or even a needle. These intricately made flowers and plants are all created by being woven by hand. Even more remarkable is that there are not just a few of these flowers on display. There is an entire flower garden made of thread to meander through.
Amongst the magnificent surroundings located at Malampuzha is South India's first rock garden. It is in the same area as the Malampuzha Dam and the Malampuzha Gardens. World renowned Padmshree Nekchand of Chandigarh sculpted the rock garden. This garden is every bit as impressive as the surrounding greenery in a different way. The artistry in which the rocks were organized is something to behold. With its surrounding landscape i.e. Western Ghats, this rock garden is a rather inspirational place to sit and ponder on life without many distractions.
The Malampuzha Gardens in Palakkad, which houses the Malampuzha dam is a great holiday attraction of Kerala. The charming old hanging bridge that dangles over the small canal is a highlight of the Malampuzha Gardens. The Malampuzha Gardens is also referred to as the Vrindavan of Kerala. The combination Western Ghats with the tranquil water of the reservoir created by Malampuzha Dam makes for one fascinating location. The garden has numerous green lawns, impressive flower beds, gorgeous pools, and relaxing fountains. The garden offers pedal-boat rides on an artificial canal.
37 kms. east of Kannur near Mattannur the Pazhassi dam & reservoir offers scenic vistas. One can cruise down the river in D.T.P.C. boats often crossing small islands inhabited only riverine birds. The recently built Gardens & Amusement park is an added attraction. The Buddha’s mountain at Pazhassi, sculpture of Pazhassi King are interesting places to visit. An ideal retreat for tourists, it lies 50 km from Mahe near Mattannur. Magnificent picturesque scenes are found here. Pleasure boating facilities are being provided by DTPC in the reservoir.
Lion's Park is a special children's theme and amusement park that is situated near the region of Calicut. The Lion's Park is situated just next to the famous light house that is on the Calicut Beach. Lion's Park is a great theme park with many rides for the children as well as many attractions for the parents. Lion's Park has the very good view of the sunset that is unparalleled in many places. You can go to Lion's Park every day as it is open 7 days a week but the opening time of Lion's Park is around 3 PM everyday so you should be prepared for a nice evening there.
For a full view of Koyna dam one should enter the Nehru Smriti Udyan. The Koyna lake can also be viewed from the Smriti. The lake runs up to 50 km from here. The place is famous for its sweet water fish. The Koyna dam and the reservoir are famous and many visitors visit the Nehru Smriti Udyan to have a clear view of the dam and the reservoir.
The entry fee to the Nehru Smriti Udyan is Rs 5 per head.
Located 10km from Bordi in the town of Umergaon, is the Kalpataru Botanical Gardens. The gardens are best visited during the monsoons.
The Kalpataru Botanical Gardens is in Umergoan. It is just 10 km away from Bordi. The famous Vrindavan studios are in Umergoan. Most of the TV epic of Ramayana was shot in this garden.
The Siddjartj Garden is situated in the heart of the city. It is placed near the station road. The garden is spread over a large area and it has a green outlook.
The Siddharth Garden is one of the most popular outdoor recreational centers of Aurangabad. There is a small aquarium in the garden.
Large areas of grass flanked by shurbs and trees is fantastic to watch. There is also a good spot for picnic. Variety of games can also be played in the garden.
Bani Begum Garden is a graceful garden located about 24 km from Aurangabad. The garden is known for its lush green appearance and comforting atmosphere. It got its name from the tomb of Bani Begum who is the wife of Aurangzeb’s son which is located in middle of this garden.
The garden is constructed in various styles. Massive domes, fountains and fluted pillars can be seen in the garden. The garden is an example of the Mughal style and architecture of the departed period.
