Park Woods

Location

Around 3 km from the highway skirting Shoghi's limits, you will enter the realm of Park Woods. The 5 acres of forest trail makes for a picturesque drive and even offers stretches ideal for trekking. These untouched wooded suburbs of the Shimla stand in stark contrast to the noise and development of the town. The locale is surrounded by forests of pine, oak and rhododendron. You will be interested to know that the shrubbery comprises some rare species of herbs and exotic birds as well as rabbits, barking deer and peacocks

Wild Life Park

Location

Around Renuka lake there is a Wild Life Park which has a number of Sambhar, Chital, Barking Deer and Hob Deer. These animals can be seen from the machans erected at the head of grassy glade early in the morning and late in the evening. Lions can also be seen from a closed jeep.

Yadavindra Gardens

Location

Yadavindra Gardens, with seven downward terraced lawns, placed at the foothills of the mount Shivalik, is a charming garden made in Mughal style located in Nalagarh. Nawab Fadai Khan designed this mind blowing garden in 17th century.

It is in the classical pattern of 'Charbagh' with a middle waterway, both sides bounded with thriving green patches. The garden has domed balconies; three palaces namely water palace (Jal Mahal), Glass Palace (Sheesh Mahal) and Painted Palace (Rang Mahal) and also has an open-air theater. The garden has shaded cool pathways, a small Japanese garden, a mini zoo suitable for children, lighted fountains that are very charming and a nursery of plants.

Sunken Garden

Location

A great pilgrim centre at an altitude of 1,350 meters, where there coexist three different shrines of different religions, Rewalsar Lake at Mandi holds such a miracle. A Hindu temple, a Buddhist monastery and a Sikh gurdwara situates here in a wonderful accord. This lake, which is famed for its hovering island, has an imposing shoreline of 735 meters.

Indira Tourist Park

Location

The park occupies a position close to the Himalayan National Park. Here, you can spend some time at the cafe run by the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Department . Exciting pony and yak rides also await the visitors inside the park. Blessed with mind-boggling scenic beauty, the Indian Tourist Park is a wonderful place for photography. Being a famous picnic spot of Kufri, it is flocked by many a visitor.

Deer Park

Location

The Deer Park in Dow hill area comes under the jurisdiction of the state forest department. It was named such because large numbers of Deers were found in the area before the menace of deforestation and poaching arrived. If you are lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the animal trying to attract your attention by coming out of the wilderness. Venturing inside the forest is prohibited.

There was a deer park, in the middle of a reservoir in a bushy land piece in Kamarpukur. The scenic surroundings of the deer park are breathtaking. The fauna and flora in the deer park are distinctive and attractive. The lusting greenery of the snake styled hilly terrains are eye catching.

There are many varieties and large numbers of deer species in this deer park. The visitors in the park are just lovers of animals and nature. The park witnesses heavy flow of tourist during holidays and summer seasons. The park is suitable for nature walks, mild trekking and jogging.
