Dabdaba Falls

Location

Dabdaba Falls, one of the attractive falls in Jawahar, is placed perfectly to soothe the visitor’s body and mind with natural sceneries and fragrance. The whitish gushing water cascading from the rock faces makes this waterfall highly attractive. The surroundings are densely forested and provide a serene location for seclusion seeking travelers. The area is unpolluted and unspoiled without much modern developments and luxuries.

Hanuman Point

Location

Hanuman point, a natural attractive pinnacle near the renowned Jai Vials Palace, is a prime location of tourist. One can have a beautiful and impressive panoramic view of the down valley from this point. Legends credit this point with the relaxing point of Hanuman, the great disciple of Lord Ram, during his travel across Bharath to serve his master.

The beautiful location is picturesque with the backdrop of green forests and the grand view of the domes of Jai Vilas Palace. The view of the domes in some particular angles is amazing.

Sunset Point

Location

Sunset Point is the natural attractive point in Jawahar. The place is picturesque and the ambience is cool and calm. The view of sunset in the zenith faraway in the distant sea shore is really a wonderful eye catching view. The tourists reaching this special sunset platform will never miss the opportunity of this breathtaking view. The surroundings of this site is filled with many scenic views of Mother Nature.

The temple enshrining the Gramadaivat literally means the Goddess of the city, is an attractive location here.

Bhandardara Region

Location

The Bhandardara Plateau provides an excellent view of the Wilson dam on the Arthur Lake. The Arthur lake formed by the waters of Pravara river in the Bhandardara region is a few kms from Igatpuri. The Wilson dam which is situated about 492 feet above the sea level was built in 1910 on the Pravara river. The water from the dam is used for hydro electric power generation. The main dam area is closed for tourist. The Arthur lake is a picnic spot attracting tourist by the hordes.

Five Waterfalls

Location

Five waterfalls is reached through the rough road leading to the railway line. After crossing it and then climbing down, it offers a breath taking sight of five waterfalls. The path to this place is difficult so one has to tread carefully. The best time to visit these waterfalls is during monsoon.

Vaitarna Dam

Location

The dam situated on the River Vaitarna was constructed in the early 50’s and it started an era of building concrete dams in India. The water from the dam is the chief source of water and electricity to the city of Mumbai. The surroundings are scenic with the distant peaks of the Western Ghats. There is a lovely lagoon nearby extended by the dam’s backwater and flanked on both sides by green woods.

Situated in a pictorial environment, Vaitarna Dam in the Vaitarna River offers the stunning scenery of the undulating stony peaks of the Western Ghats. Constructed in the early 50’s, this dam site commenced an era of concrete dams in India .A lovely lagoon with a vast extend of black waters, flanked by deep woods, makes this dam site a delight for the tourists.

Bhatsa River Valley

Location

The Bhatsa River valley is situated at the end of the Thal Ghat, just before entering Igatpuri. The valley lies in the basin of the majestic Bhatsa River which has resulted in dense growth of foliage and forest cover and adds to its pleasant surroundings and charm.

An imposing spot in Igatpuri, Bhatsa River Valley is placed in the basin of the majestic Bhatsa River. A pictorial spot with lustrous foliage, and splendid knolls, Bhatsa River Valley is blessed with an exquisite charm. Tringalwadi Lake

Location

This lake is under control of the municipality in Igatpuri. The other lakes are Railway’s lake, Talegaon Lake etc. They are nice places to spend peaceful evenings.

Igatpuri is the abode of numerous lakes, and the prominent among them all is the Tringalwadi Lake, which is under the control of Igatpuri municipality. The lakeside is ideal destination to squander a quiet and comforting evening. Though small in size, this lake houses panoramic scenery of the massive fort and the majestic mountains. During monsoon the lakeside offers a haunting site to the tourists.

Camel Valley

Location

A little away from Bhatsa river valley towards the right is the Camel valley. Monsoons are the best time to explore this area as the valley has a spectacular waterfall of about 1000 feet in height formed by rain water that falls like a sheet of white paper into the base of the valley.

Camel valley in Igatpuri is situated adjacent to the majestic Bhatsa River Valley. An impressive cataract created by the rainfall, it is the prime attraction of this pretty location. The enthralling scenery of a waterfall, which cascades from a height of 1000 feet, is really stunning.
