Kashid Beach

Location

Situated in a pretty ambience, Kashid is one among the alluring beaches in the western coast of Maharashtra. A gorgeous beach, whose sandy white shore and the calm blue water, provides a quite evening in solitude. The sun Revdanda Beach Fort: A fort in a ruined condition, Revdanda Beach Fort is a remnant of the Portuguese rule in India. Much of this Portuguese fort is in devastated condition and run over by betel nut plantations. Now a relic of the past, what remains there is, only a seven-story tower which pushes its windswept, shrubbery enclosed head over slim stem palm trees on which the betel nut fruit grow. A yawning cannonball holes in the fortification walls border the sea.

Kondana Caves

Location

These caves are famous because of their Buddhist style. These caves offers an ancient life style of Buddhist followers. There are many Sculptures and stupas which are the architecture of the ancient period of Buddhist.

Kondana Caves situated in Karjat offers the ancient lifestyle of Buddhist followers. Ancient rock-cut caves, Kondana Caves are very famous Buddhist caves. These caves enclose sculptures, vihara, cahitya and stupa. Sculptures and stupas are specimens of the ancient period Buddhist architecture. There was a natural disaster in the form of an earth quake in early 1900 by which many stupas, front entrance and floor of the caves were damaged.

Ulhas Valley

Location

This valley glitters with large flowing streams of Ulhas river. It offers breathtaking sights during the monsoons, when the water falls gush through the thick greenery of the valley. There are a number of tunnels in the Ulhas valley, which helps the trains to pass through the valley.

Bahiri Cave

Location

This cave is famous for trekking. Its characteristic long and strenuous streches makes it a challenging trekking adventure. However it is advised that an expert should accompany a trekking trip in this cave.
This cave stands facing the Ulhas Valley at an altitude of 600m. this cave is religious for many Hindu devotees. On the day of Chaitra Purnima a fair is held in the area.

Bedsa Caves

Location

Bedsa Caves, as ancient as 60 BC, consisting of two caves are considered to be among the oldest caves in Maharashtra. The caves can be reached through number of steps on the sloppy hilly location. The main cave known as Chaitya, the prayer hall, enshrines a beautiful stupa. This cave contains four 25 feet high pillars with many carvings including those of elephants, horses and bulls. The ribbed roof is supported by orthogonal pillars.

Bhairi Caves

Location

Bhairi caves are placed on high rocks with sharp tops. The huge cave known as Bhairav cave is a very strange cave in which animal sacrifice still takes place. Bhairi caves can be reached by many rocky steps from the foot hills, the path approaching the caves are rough and very dangerous. Ascending and descending are difficult and an adventurous trekking is required to get a close view of the caves. The trails from the city to Bhairi caves are undulated and slippery with sharp rocks and forest covers.
