Moho River

Location

Sajan has a mini-dam if one may decide to call it that based upon the size of it. The Moho-Khurd dam located just nearby the town has a superb setting of a man made water reservoir coupled with a waterfall. Add this to the greenery around and it becomes a great place for nature lovers.

The water in the Dam is almost always calm and inviting. A swim in the Dam or a picnic along the banks is an inviting option. The less adventurous may try their hands at available include Kayaking across the splendid Moho-Khurd Damlet.

Palusa Falls

Location

The normal trends of Indian waterfalls do not apply to this unique waterfall in Sajan. The waterfall is almost always at its full glory and rarely dry up or become a trickle as is the case with rest of the waterfalls. The Palusa waterfall is surrounded by verdant forests from every side and the sight of the creamy torrent gushing down almost a 40 -60 feet and crush the resilient rocks below is awe inspiring.

Bhatye Beach

Location

Bhatye is the biggest town in Konkan and one of the immediate suburbs of Ratnagiri town. A wonderful beach in the background of the jagged Sahyadri mountain ranges provides a panoramic view of the surroundings. Ganeshghule Beach

Mandavi Beach

Location

A booming hot spot of tourists, Mandavi Beach is the most crowded beach in the Ratnagiri region. The prettiest beach in Ratnagiri, Mandavi is gifted with a vast line of seashore right up to Rajiwanda Port.

This fabulous beach is surrounded by the west by the Ratnadurg fort, and the majestic Arabian Sea lies to its south. The proximity of the beach to the town makes it a favourite holiday spot of the water enthusiasts.

Pandre Samudra

Pandre Samudra is a beach with a long, clean stretch of sand whose name means ‘White sea’. Situated very near to Ratnagiri town, Pandre Samudra allures people with its silvery charm.

Tungarli Dam

Location

Tungarli Dam built across the Tungarli Lake is a famous weekend picnic spot nearby Rajmachi. The Dam is placed in the backdrop of scenic surroundings with lusting greeneries. Tungarli village, in the hills in Sahyadri ranges, offers picturesque panoramic view of the down city Rajmachi and also other places such as Lonavala and Lohagad.

Gangasagar Lake

Location

Gangasagar Lake is an artificial lake constructed adjacent to the Raigad fort, Gangasagar Lake is a wonder. The popular belief is that this pond was built in the time of Sivaji’s coronation and water from the holy river Ganges had been brought to this lake for Sivaji’s crowning ceremony.

The villages and the resort on the top is getting drinking water all round the year from this magnificent lake. The all-embracing Palace and Queen’s Chamber are located adjacent this lake. The remains of the watchtowers of the fort can be seen from this Lake.
