Karanji Kere Lake
Karanji Kere Lake ia a water body amid lush green environment is the Karanji Kere Lake in the heart of the city of Mysore. The surroundings of the lake are used by the people for jogging and the lake is used as a place to immerse the idols of Ganesha after the festival.
At present this lake houses many breeds of birds. Various species of wild fowls are also preserved in addition to the peacock. The great Indian hornbill wild hens and ducks are also seen here. A pelican swimming meditatively on the calm waters of the lake can be sighted from a distance.

Netrani Island (Pigeon Island)
Locally known as Netragudo, the Netrani Island is an excellent picnic spot off Bhaktal coast. The Indian navy often uses this island for target practices. Besides them, the only inhabitants of the island are wild goats. To get there, one has to hire a fishing trawler from Bhatkal or Honawar.
The lee of the island, a seamount supporting a soil layer overgrown with trees and plants, looks like a cake with its vertical sides topped by a gentle sloping plateau. There exists a subterranean cave with openings in the south and north above the high water mark.
Murudeshwar Beach
Murudeshwar Beach, with the Arabian sea roaring on the west and a serene river on the east, is a secluded beach and a popular attraction. Visitors can enjoy a pretty good bath in the Arabian sea here.
The giant shiva statue is the major attraction here. On one side of the beach, one can see there are plentiful burkha-clad women with their husbands and children enjoying an evening breath of air, while on the other side of the beach, one can see a group of nuns taking a walk, enjoying the seldom available solitude.

Chunchi Waterfalls
Chunchi waterfalls is one more beautiful place to visit which is located very nearer to Muttatti.
Kodachadri Hills
Kodachadri Hills is yet another exquisite scenic Hill Station which is found to be nestling between the Western Ghats. The hill is 4411 ft above the sea level. A grand view of the lush green surroundings can be seen from the topmost part of the hill. Kodachadri is a splendid place for watching the sunrise and sunset.
