Bandippore

Location

The town of Bandippore also known as the ‘Port of Wular’ is situated on the eastern bank of Wular Lake. The town connects to Gurez and Gilgit through good road connectivity. A park built on the pattern of Nishat Bagh also exists here.

Ujh Barrage

Location

The Ujh Barrage is located about 20 km away from Kathua. The bird sanctuary at this site is situated on the banks of the Ujh River. The Ujh Barrage was commissioned in the region in 1980-1981 for providing better irrigation facilities to farmers.

Gangabal Lake

Location

Gangabal Lake is considered as one of the sources of the River Jhelum. It is located at an altitude of 3,570 m on the Harmukh Peak and is popularly known as the Harmukh Ganga. The major attraction is the annual fair organised in the 3rd week of August. This place is considered holy among the Kashmiri Hindus. The lake is ideal for fishing, between the months of March and October.
