Kapildhara

Location

Six km northwest of Narmadakund is the Kapildhara waterfall with a fall of about hundred feet. According to scriptures, Kapil Muni lived here. There is a scene of natural beauty with mountains and dense forest down hills. According to ‘Vindhya Vaibhav’ Kapil Muni performed severe austerities here and received divine light. He also wrote ‘sankhya philosophy’ (an advanced treatise on mathematics) at this place. The Kapileshwar temple is also situated nearby. The surrounding mountains are full of caves where saints have been performing their spiritual practices.

Dudh Dhara Falls

Location

Amarkantak is a place where the glittering streams exhilarate the visitors with its gushing waters. There are several places within the shaded coverage of the woody region where Narmada turns in to brawny surge of water that loosens itself from hectic heights transform into an audacious river.

River Narmada ensembles enormous waterfalls in its undulating traits through the dense forest and the Dudh Dhara falls is a noteworthy one. It lies in the western edge of the entire Amarkantak valley in the midst of thick woods. Dudh literally stands for milk and the name itself suggest the nature of the gurgling streams of this pretty cascade.

Sagardighi

Location

Situated in the heart of the Cooch Behar town is a huge tank known as Sagardighi. Surrounded by heritage buildings on all sides, this tank was excavated by Maharaja Hitendra Narayan. Apart from being a popular rendezvous in the evening, during winter months one can spot migratory birds on the water surface and the nearby trees. The scenic beauty of the place coupled with calm ambience makes the place extremely popular among tourists.

Pokhri

Location

This sacred and holy pond on the top of Pokhri hill at a distance of about 4 Km from Jayanti is a must-visit sightseeing destination of Jayanti. To reach Pokhri one has to trek the distance partly through forested hills and partly through previously used roads. The whole trek is quite a joyful experience and provides a scope to come so close to nature. People visiting Jayanti hardly misses a chance to visit the Pokhri pond. The beauty of the surroundings is certainly something which has a refreshing effect.

Lower Ghaghri Falls

Location

Lower Ghaghri Falls is situated at a distance of around 10 km from Netarhat in Latehar district. It is considered among one of the highest waterfalls of India, which falls from a height of 320 ft. Located against the background of thick forests, tourists can also see Upper Ghaghri Falls, which are only 4 km from Netarhat.
