Shiva Statue: The Shiva Statue is 65 feet. It is located on the Airport Road just behind Kemp Fort. The statue depicts Lord Shiva who is seated in Padmashan or Lotus position. This is the largest Shiva statue in India.

The background has been made to look as if it is Kailash. The River Ganga flows from the entangled rocks. The statute looks majestic during the night when it is lighted.

The whole area and the statue give the visitors a picture which clearly depicts the fabulous fable which is related to it.

The Bangalore Aquarium is a diamond shaped building and was opened in 1973. It is situated in Cubbon Park on Kasturba Road. The Bangalore Aquarium is the second largest aquarium in India. The aquarium houses an assortment of alien cultivable fish. It also has ornamental fish.

The aquarium consists of three floors. The first floor has 14 tanks and the second floor has two rows of 69 medium and small tanks. The unique feature of the Aquarium is that it puts up a similar habitat to which the fish is accustomed.

Gommatesvara Statue: Gommatesvara Statue is the prime attraction in Sravanabelagola. This wonderful statue with 17 m (58 ft) height is the world’s highest monolithic statue. It is a specimen of architecture and craft. There are many inscriptions on the base of this statue. The statue was built by the Ganga king and his general Chamundaraya.

This place is a treasure trove of natural wonders, with many caves and medicinal herbs, On top of the hillock a natural spring with ice cold water gushes out & it has medicinal value. A temple in its vicinity attracts a lots of pilgrims, Located at 100 kms from Bangalore.

This Lion Safari Park is situated on Shimoga-Sagar Road.

Here is a reservoir built across Shimsha River, where you can avail of boating facilities.

The National Orchidarium which is located 2 km from the Emerald Lake has a wide variety of orchids which includes 30 orchid species that are exclusively found here. Many endangered species of orchids are persevered in this orchidarium which is ranked the third largest of all the orchidariums in India.

One of the places of interest in Yercaud is the silk farm. The silk farm is located very near to the Lady’s seat. Visiting the silk farm will be a memorable and knowledgeable experience especially to the children.

In the silk farm one can see how the silk worms are reared, how they are fed on mulberry leaves and how the cocoons are used for spinning the silk threads etc. The life cycle of silk worm and methods of spinning silk can be understood by visiting this place.

Founded in 1875 by Madame Blavatsky and Col. Olott in USA, Theosophical Society is a worldwide organization whose primary objective is universal brotherhood for the benefit of humanity based on the realization of life, and all its diverse forms. Late in 1882, the society was moved to Adyar in Chennai. The society runs a library, which has a good collection of rare oriental manuscripts written on palm leaves and parchment and these manuscripts have lot of ancestral and archeological value. The library is a good place to have historical knowledge of culture and customs.
