Dodda Sampige Mara
One of the must-visits while you are on a tour to BR Hills is this unique site. This is actually a thousand year old tree. The name when translated into English means the "Big Champak tree". The temple is situated about 4 km from BR Hills. The tree reaches upto 34 m in height and is about 20 m broad. This is a holy site. There are many lingams close to the trunk of the tree.
The river Bhargavi, which is a tributary of the Kaveri, flows by the tree. The river is believed to be an incarnation of the Renuka who was the wife of Jamadagni, a Hindu sage.
Shantala Devi
The beautiful sculpture of Shantala Devi, Queen of King Vishnuvardhana, is placed on the circular platform in front of the shrine. It is unique for its hollow and movable jewelry.
Narasimha Pillar
This pillar, which once revolved on its ball bearings, has a small space left on it to be sculpted by anyone who has the skill. However, it is untouched till date.
Madanikas
There are four well-known bracket figures on the ornate ceiling that are inspired by Shantala Devi's well-endowed beauty. On the walls, there are 38 bracket figures of attractive, meditative, mischievous and romantic women.
Kamala Basthi
Within the walls of the fort is the late Chalukya style, of which the Kamala Basti with Neminatha idol in black stone should not be missed. The masterpiece here is the "Mukhamantapa" with a well executed lotus on its ceiling.
Sukhadia Circle
Sukhadia Circle, also known as Sukhadia square, is a majestic turn around in Panchwati, the Udaipur city’s northern suburb. It is a popular landmark in Udaipur and provides a beautiful view with the illumination of lights.
This square, opened in 1970, has a magnificent three tiered fountain in the center and a structure representing the prosperity. This place is used as a evening relaxation place with beautiful gardens and a nice pond.
