Natural History Museum

Location

Nehru Zoological Park is situated in Bahadurpur area, which is 16 Kilometers away from Hyderabad. The main attractions of this park are Lion Safari Park, Museum of Pre-historic Animals, and Natural History museum. The Natural History museum displays many ancient artefacts and dummies of stuffed extinct birds and animals. The museum has also consists of uncommon and exciting exhibits.

Salar Jung Museum

Salar Jung Museum is located on the southern side of the river Musi. It is the third most prominent museum in India domiciliating the largest one-man aggregations of antiques in the world. This museum is very famous throughout India for its well-known collections of materials belong to various civilizations starting from first century.

Nizam's Museum

Location

The Nizam’s Museum is an equally entertaining museum in Hyderabad. It is located in Purana Haveli, in the heart of the city. The museum is just two kilometers from Charminar. The second Nizam of Hyderabad acquired a palace around 1750 and made it into a museum with a breathtaking collection of antiques.

The gifts and mementos on the silver jubilee celebrations are being displayed here. Among this precious collection are the expensive and vintage 1930 Rolls Royce, Mark V Jaguar and Packard. Gold-furnished throne used during the celebrations; a gold tiffin box, with diamond inlaid it; coffee cups made of silver and studded with diamonds are also seen. Gold and silver models of various buildings and the silver Jubilee pavilion are also showcased.

Archival Museum

Location

Archival Museum is located on the Public Gardens Road, Tarnaka, Hyderabad. It is situated around 4.8 km from Ameerpet. It is present in the premises of AP State Archives and Research Institute. It is one of the important museums in Hyderabad. There are many galleries present in this museum, which consist of different kinds of sculptures, weapons, coins, paintings, and so on. The museum also contains many historical records, rare manuscripts, and historical documents.

AP State Museum

Location

Andhra Pradesh State Museum is in Hyderabad in the picturesque Public Gardens. The museum was built in 1928 by the Hyderabad Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan. The museum stands as an excellent example of Indo-Saracenic style of architecture. This is one place art lovers should not miss visiting. The museum boasts rich repositories of art objects and antiques in India. A Buddhist Gallery, Bronze Gallery, Numismatics Gallery, Ajanta Gallery, Brahmanical and Jain Gallery, Arms and Armour Gallery are some of the galleries that display invaluable antiques.

Assam State Museum

Location

The State Museum operated by the Assam government is located near Dighalipukhuri tank. The museum is extremely popular due to its amazing (envious is the right word) anthology of antiques right back to the prehistoric times. The collection boasts of some of the most authentic prehistoric sculptures, metal, ivory paintings, woodwork and costumes etc.

The museum was instituted in 1940 and has since made every effort to incorporate every aspect of the lifestyles of Assamese community. The reconstructed tribal huts where one can walk right through them and examine them are result of such efforts. The display of weaving and musical instruments is another step in right direction.
