Khwaza Bande Nawaz Dargah

Location

The most important monument in Gulbarga is probably The Khwaza Bande Nawaz Dargah. The tomb of the great sufi saint, Khwaza Syed Mohammad Gesu Daraz, popularly known as Khwaza Bande Nawaz. This is a magnificent building built in the Indo-Saracenic style. The dargah is the venue of an annual 'Urs', which is attended by nearly one thousand people, both Hindus and Muslims.

Inam Dattatreya Peetha

Location

Situated on the Baba Budan Giri is the Inam Dattatreya Peetha venerated by the Hindus and the Muslims alike.

A laterite cave here is believed to have been sanctified by the residence of Dattatreya Swami as well as Hazrat Dada Hayat Mir Khalander.

The worship here is conducted by a fakir and the annual 'jatra' or 'urs' is attended by both Hindus and Muslims with great fervour.

Biligiri Rangaswamy Temple

Tourists can definitely pay a visit to this temple located in the BR Hills. The temple with its unique charm is sure to impress everybody.

This is a famous temple in the Hills. The Biligiri Rangaswamy Temple is dedicated to Lord Ranganatha. The local name of the God is Biligiriranga and the deity is shown as being in a standing position. This is the only place in the country where it is depicted as being in this position. Devotees flock to the place in large numbers to catch a glimpse of the deity. The famous car festival of the deity is held every year.
