Nagoba (Keslapur Temple)

Location

Keslapur village about 32kms from district centre of Adilabad and 25kms from Uttnoor Taluk is the famous temple of NAGOBA, the Serpent God popularly known as “Shesha Nag” the divine serpent of Lord Shiva.This deity is offered pujas throughout the year with much reverence and devotion not only from the devotees within the state but also from the neighbouring state of Maharashtra

Jainath temple

Location

Jainath temple is situated in Jainath, a small village 21 Kms from AdiIad bad. A prakrit. stone inscription with 20 slokas in the temple mentions that it was built by the Pallava chief. The temple has all the features of Jain style of temple architecture
Therefore, the village obtained the name Jainath. The Laxmi Narayana Swami Bhra motsava m celebrated from Karthika Sudda Astami to Bahula Saptami (October-November) attracts a large number of devotees.
Several historic monuments have been built by different dynasties during their regime.

Bhadi Temple

Basara Saraswathi

Location

Basara Temple is a biggest attraction in Adilabad tourism Temple is situated 200 Kms from Hyderabad, AP. Sri Gnana Saraswathi temple at Basara on the banks of river Godavari is the only temple in South India dedicated to the Goddess of learning.
The legend has it that after the Mahabharata war, sage Veda Vyasa embarked on a pilgrimage in search of peace.

He reached the serene Kumaranchala hills on the banks of river Godavari and meditated and propitiated the Goddess who eventually appeared before him and granted her presence in the form of the divine trinity.
The Goddess ordered the sage to place three handful of sand at three places everyday. Miraculously these sand dunes transformed into the idols of the divine trinity i.e., Saraswathi, Lakshmi, & Kali.

Parasuram kund

Location

Parasuram kund is located 13 miles northeast of Tezu, District Headquaters of Lohit district - a growing town, famous for its scenic beauty. Thousand of pilgrims visit this place from all parts of India every year during Parasuram mela held in the month of January.
Parasuram Kund during winter particularly in January. A fair is held during Mokar-Sankranti. Pilgrims from all over the country come here for holy dip in the kund to wash away their sins. There is a large lake called Glow Lake.

Tawang Gompa

Location

The Tawang Gompa is definitely the high point of the town, perched on a 2760 m high ridge with a commanding view of the splendid valleys beyond. The gompa, also called the Galden Namgyal Lhatse, is a famous Mahayana monastery established in 1643-47 by Lodre Gyaltso, who was popularly called Meera Lama. The name of Tawang means "horse chosen," a reference to the way in which Meera Lama's horse wandered off on its own and discovered the perfect spot on which the monastery now stands.

Tawang Monastery

Location

The Tawang Monastery is said to be the largest monastery in the north-western region of Arunachal Pradesh. It is located in the small village by the same name and was founded by Merak Lama Lodre Gyatso in between the year 1680 and 1681. The locals here believe that the monastery was built here as per the wishes of the 5th Dalai Lama, which is why it also has its long term associations with the Drepung Monastery located in Lhasa.

Urguelling Monastery

Location

Urguelling Monastery is a beautiful monastery located at a distance of 5km from Tawang town in Arunachal Pradesh. Its foundation was laid by Urgen Sangpo, the youngest brother of Terton Pempalingpa, the celebrated Treasure-Revealer. It was established in the 15th century. This place is the birth place of Tsangyang Gyatso, the Sixth Dalai Lama. The monastery is of great historic importance. There is no airport and railway station in Tawang, so road is the only way to reach here. Accommodation is easily available here.
