It was here that Guru Gobink Singh is said to have drafted the holy words contained in the ‘Dasam Granth’. There are several places of specific interest here, like the Shri Talab Asthan where salaries were paid out, the Shri Dastar Asthan where competitions in tying turbans were held, the Kavi Durbar where poetical discourses were conducted, the memorial commemorating Kalpi Rishi, and a wonderful museum housing exhibits pertaining to the life and times of Guru Gobind Singh.
A legendary temple that boasts of a rich tradition, Baijnath temple is the most magnificent monument in Kangra Valley. Directed westwards, the temple encompasses astonishing structural designs that resemble the Jagannatha Temple at Puri. The temple architecture shows an adytum or puri of 8 to 18 feet width where the Lingam is depicted.

A monastery of recent origin, Tashijong is a community rather than a monastery. It encompasses a small stratum of the Tibetan refugees where one can see the dwellings of the people in exile. This monastery depicts structures at different levels, there is a college for freshers and a Tibetan restaurant. The main shrine is placed on a top platform at the fag end of a garden.
It’s curved roofs with red and golden colour ornamentation portrays prayer flags that waves with the gentle breeze. A thick loom like stupa, which is typical of a Buddhist shrine, adorns the extreme side of the garden. Secondary prayer halls where the monks carry out their routine prayers flank the garden.

Hatu Peak offers a great 8km trek for people who are not looking for rigorous treks. In case if you find it difficult, you can also drive up to the peak. There is a little temple atop the peak dedicated to Hatu Mata. A small tea stall is also there at your service to dole out some local tid-bids and steaming tea in summers. Sit and enjoy the picturesque view of snow-clad mountains, apple orchards, green fields, and swirling mists.
At an altitude of 1810 mtr, Kacheri is 7 kms from Narkanda on NH - 22. It is famous for an ancient Mahamaya Temple.
