Hirwavan Garden

Also known as Pipria Garden as it is located at Pipria on the Silvassa Dadra Road. The garden has been dedicated to the local tribal deity Hirva, meaning greenery or forest.

Named after a tribal deity ‘Hirwa’ is another beautiful garden at the entry point at Silvassa. The sight of colourful shrubs, criss crossing footpaths and kiosks will fascinate any vistor.

Shalimar Garden

Location

It is one of the most important Mughul gardens in the city. The Shalimar Garden, which lies in the suburbs of the city, was once the first-night staging post for the Mughuls on their way to Kashmir and Lahore. In 1658, Aurangzeb was crowned emperor here. Shish Mahal, the beautiful central pavilion built by Shah Jahan is now in a fairly advanced state of decay. Some of the original painted flower decoration has survived.

National Rose Garden

Location

National Rose Garden is situated in the Chanakya Puri area of the capital. This garden has some of the rare and imported rose variety. The best season to visit this garden is during December / January when the flowers are in full bloom. There is another rose garden in Hauz Khas opposite Safdarjang's Tomb.
