Location
Yairipok, one of the major villages of Thoubal, was initially inhabited by the Meitei Brahmins and was later occupied by the Manipur Muslims. The megalithic structures built between 1579 and 1652 are popular. This monolith has carved structure of a tortoise, Kurma, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu and God of Elephants. It is believed that wild elephants arrive here to worship their God on certain occasions.
