Hidden Valley

Location

The Hidden Valley is in the region that surrounds Coonoor. This valley is known for being both impressive and beautiful. Access to this valley is not readily available. Instead, it is necessary to trek to this particular valley. The green, lush landscape combined with the breathtaking mountain views make this trek worth all of the physical exertion. The valley is fantastic when you get there, but half of the fun and enjoyment come from the actual trekking experience. Fabulous views abound as you make your way toward the Hidden Valley.

Law's Falls

Location

The Law's Falls is a small waterfall located on the Coonoor river near its junction with the Mettupalayam Ghat Road. It is named after a man named Col. Law. This was the man who traced and who was behind the construction of the new Coonoor ghat. Even though it is a relatively small waterfall, it attracts a lot of visitors. This is because it is one of the prettiest locations anywhere in the area. The surrounding landscape is extremely rocky and wild. Such a setting is a huge draw for naturalists. In fact, this location is almost heaven to such enthusiasts.

Aazhiyaar Dam (Aaleeyaar Dam)

Aazhiyaar Dam (Aaleeyaar Dam): The Aazhiyaar dam is situated in outstrip of 24 km from Pollachi in Coimbatore district. The Aazhiyaar dam was built during the period of 1959 to 1969 across the river Aazhiyaar. The ultimate objective of constructing this dam is for irrigation. The dam comprises several dams getting interlinked by tunnels and canals for restraining Aliyar, Sholiyar, Nirar, Thunakadavu, Parambikulam, Thekkadi and Palar rivers, confining at diverse altitudes for the purpose of generating electricity and irrigation.

Amaravathi Dam

Amaravathi Dam: The Amaravathi dam is situated some 25 kilometers away from Udumalpet, Coimbatore district. The Amaravathi dam is an average form of reservoir, which has been constructed across the river Cauvery. The dam is erected to a height of 90 feet. The Amaravathi dam is unique because of its outstanding crocodile farm of look. Quite number of tourists makes their visit to Amaravathi dam, to see its attractive structure and this dam has been one among the familiar tourists spot. People traveling to udumalpet can make a visit to the dam as they are really breath-taking.

Bhavani Sagar Dam

Bhavani Sagar Dam: The Bhavani Sagar Dam is located some 80 kilometers away from Coimbatore city, Tamil Nadu. The Bhavani Sagar Dam was built after India getting its independence. Moreover, the dam is considered to be the one among the biggest earthen dams in the country. Bhavani Sagar dam is constructed on Bhavani River, which is merely under the union of Moyar River. Kodiveri Dam

Kodiveri Dam: The Kodiveri dam is located some 10 kms from Gobichettipalayam. This Kodiveri dam acquires water from Bhavanisagar dam which is mainly used for the purpose of irrigation. The Kodiveri dam irrigates merely 25000 hectares and moreover the dam is one of the excellent tourist spot. A massive amount of Rs. 75 lakhs has been contributed to explicate Kodiveri as an outstanding and enjoying picnic spot. Kovai Kutralam Falls

Kovai Kutralam falls is an exciting water fall situated at Siruvani. The water fall is about 37 kilometers away from Coimbatore city and the water fall is popularly known for its magnificence. The water fall is situated in the center part of the dense forest and due to this reason visitors are not permitted to see the falls after 5 pm. The chief source of drinking water in Coimbatore is supplied by Siruvani. Tourists cannot make their visit to this falls anytime because only few numbers of buses are available to visit the place.
