Lakya Dam

Location

Lakya Dam: A check dam across the Lakya, the tributary of Bhadra river, built by Kudremukh Iron Ore Company is the so called Lakya Dam having a height of 100 m. The main utility of this dam is to collect the waste materials from the mining operations and since it is a dam of silt not water.

Gangamoola

Location

Gangamoola, or Varaha Parvatha, a mount with a height of 1458 m above sea level within the border of National Park close to Kudremukh, is acclaimed as the source of three rivers Tunga, Bhadra and Netravathi originating from Western Ghats. It has the distinction of being a part of UNESCO designated World Heritage Site.

A cave, which is inaccessible during the rainy monsoon seasons, enclosing a 6 feet image of Varaha and the temple of Goddess Bhagavathi are the main attractions here.

The hill is densely populated with forest trees and has a good annual rainfall in its account. The hillock is very rich in minerals, with significant magnetite-quartzite deposits, yielding iron ore.

Kolar Betta or Kolar Hills

Location

Kolar Betta or Kolar Hills was also known as Satasringa hills (the hundred peaked mountain). This Place is also a great picnic spot. On top of the hill their is an huge plateau. Antargange, a perennial spring on the east of the hills has become a popular tourist destination. There is water gushing out from the mouth of a stone bull (Basava),all the time nobody knows the source of water or the place from where it originates. Water flows here through out the year.

Kodachadri hills

Location

Kodachadri hills are known for their beautiful views of sunrise and sunset. Climbing up the hill is a bit tedious but the views of the scenery are spectacular. On a clear day, it is possible to see the Arabian Sea and sometimes even some sailing ships can be caught sight of from the top of the Kodachadri Hills.

Kodachadri hills are also a great place for Trekkers. Arisinagudi Waterfalls and Agastya Teertha Waterfalls are the points of interest nearby.

Hebbe Falls

Location

One imposing attraction near Kemmanagundi for the solitude-seclude seeking tourists is Hebbe Falls. Breezy lands, soft winds, misty waters comprises Hebbe falls, 168 m high.

The falls is broken down hitting a rock projection half way through making as imposing view. This breaking makes Hebbe Falls into two - a big fall and a small fall further down. Big falls known as Dodda Hebbe and small one as Chikka Hebbe.

Rajendra Hill

Location

Rajendra Hill, a nature’s gift also known as Bababudan Hill town, is enormously rich in iron ore contents and is one of the highest peaks in Karnataka with its majestically risen peaks and is surrounded by coffee plantations. The enthusiastic tourists can drink to its last drop the natural beauty at Rajendra hill, placed at an awesome height of 1448 m.

The thrilling sight of transporting the mineral ores mined from the hill, through a 5 km ropeway is a major attraction here. The adventurous trekking routes, two trails, lead to the Kemmanagundi Hill station through Gali Kere.
