Nizam Sagar is a colossal reservoir across Manjira River, a tributary of Godavari River. Known for its spectacular beauty, the landscape is accompanied by sprawling gardens. Many boarding and lodging facilities are available here for the tourists. Boating is an added attraction.
About 7 km from Nizamabad, Asok Sagar is a huge reservoir, with neatly laid-out garden and beautiful rocks. It is constructed across River Pennar and is situated near Somasila Village of Ananthasagaram Mandal, Nellore District. Pulicat Lake is the second largest brakish water lagoon in India spread over the two States of Andhra Pradesh and Tamilanadu adjacent to the Bay of Bengal. It extends over six hundred squire kilometers in Andhra Pradesh covering the five Mandals of Tada, Sullurupeta, Doravari satram, Chittamur, Dugarajupatnam of Nellore District.
It is a bird watchers paradise. Water birds and other birds like Flamingoes, Painted Storks, Egrets, Pelican, Herons, Pintails, Black-winged Stilts, Shoveler, Terns etc., visit this lake . These migratory birds visit during winter as the lake offers food and protection from predators. The lake was notified as a Bird Sanctuary in 1976. vide G.O.U/s 18 wild life (protection) Act.
About 25 km from Nellore city of Andhra Pradesh, Mypad Beach is certainly a treat for any sea lover. The silky sands of the beach create a mirage when golden sunrays fall on them. Kandaleru Dam which is located about 60 km (37 mi) away form Nellore. It is also well connected to the State Highway from Nellore to Kadapa via Rapur & Rajampet. It was constructed across the Kandaleru river. This river originates in Velegonda hills and it flows across Gudur. This Dam has 68 TMC water storage spread over 11 kilometre which is supplys drinking water to Tamil Nadu is a pictorious spot with hillocks and forest around. One government guest house has constructed with 4 suites, meeting hall and a Dining hall with kichen for official purpose. It attracts many pilgrims.
Made known in 1982 by a team of European speleologists led by Mr Gebaner, Belum Caves are the second largest natural caves in Indian Sub-continent after Meghalaya Caves. These underground caves are located on a flat agricultural field, have 3 well like cavities with the central one being the main entrance to the caves. After a descent of 20 meters at the entrance, the cave is horizontal & has a length of 3229 meters. Longer than Borra Caves in Vishakapatnam district, Belum Caves have long passages, spacious chambers, fresh water galleries and siphons.
Palakonda ranges are the naturally formed hills bordering kadapa town, a place of tourist attraction having good waterfalls and high altitudes. Near RIMS there is way to reach the temple of lord Shiva in the name of Sri Palakondarayudu in Palakondalu.
Lotus Pond is a modest water body located on Banjara Hills in Hyderabad. The pond is enclosed by luxuriant green flora; the pond is about 1.2 km diameter. This pond is the home of about 20 species of birds. Some of the birds of this pond are common coot, common moorhen, little egret, little grebe, pied kingfisher, sunbirds, and white wagtail. The pond is being kept in good condition by the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad.
The pond was believed to be an eco-preservation project contributing natural components into the concept of this project without troubling the ecosystem and preserving the natural rocks and the pond. The construction of the project was launched on 20 November, 1999. The project was finished in the year 2001.
