Kailash Cave

Location

40 km from Jagdalpur in Bastar, Kailash cave is located on a small hill in the Kanger Valley National Park. Kailash cave is also a pitch dark cave that derives its name from the natural carving of the idol of Lord Shiva. People are allowed to go up to 300mts long and 50mts deep, real depth and length of this cave is not known. Presently solar energy is used to light this cave.

Dandak Cave

Location

Discovered in 1995, this 200 meter long underground cave is divided into two compartments, visitors have to go on their knees to go from the first compartment to the second. Solar lamps are used to light the cave.
The whole area of Bastar has many smaller caves such as Kanger, Karpan and Devgiri among others. All the caves in Chhattisgarh are a geologist delight as their rocks are said to be millions of years old.

Chitrakot Waterfall

Location

Situated at a distance of 50 Km to the west of Jagdalpur in Bastar, Chitrakot is a gorgeous waterfall that is the largest waterfall in India. Chitrakot waterfall in Chhattisgarh can can be compared to the Niagara Falls of United States for its horse-shoe shape. The stream of River Indravati falling down from the Vindhya mountain ranges forms these waterfalls that attract numerous tourists, especially during rainy season.

Yamuna River

Location

The river flows besides the rural belt of the city with its holy waters which turn into a Black Nullah after entering the National Capital Delhi.
This acts as a natural boundary also between state of Haryana and the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Sulphur Springs

Location

Sohna is famous for its sulphur springs, reputed for their medicinal properties, with the temperature ranging from 46.10c to 51.70c. The springs are located at the feet of a perpendicular rock, and are capped by a dome believed to have been built in the 14th century. The spa complex with sauna, sulphur and steam bath facilities for the tourists is situated up on the rock. There is also a mini swimming pool, filled with water spewed from a wall mural. It is said that Arjun (one of the five Pandav brothers) dug these wells when he was thirsty.

Badkhal Lake

Location

Badkhal lake Next to Badkhal village, it’s name probably comes from the Persian word bedakhal, which means free from interference. Formed in a scooped natural depression in the Aravalli hills, the lake is fed by rain water and a small rivulet. There are a number of restaurants and motels around the lake, and a flower show is held every spring. Badkhal Lake is another holiday attraction at a distance of about 32 from Delhi at a well fortified position giving immense pleasure. This is about 9kms from Surajkund, nestled within the boulder strewn Aravalli hills.
