Miran Sahib's Tomb

Location

This tomb stands to the memory of a saint, Sayad Mohd. alias Miran Sahib who died in 899 A.D. He was responsible for rescuing a Brahmin girl from the clutches of a Raja in a pitched battle. The tomb is situated towards the extreme south of the town and alongside it stand a small mosque and a cemetery of many members of the Mandal family.

Kalander Shah's Tomb

Location

Kalander Shah's tomb is situated just outside the town. The grave is made of marble and decorated with sculpture. The tomb was built by Ghias-ud-din, Emperor of Delhi, to the memory of Bo-Ali-Qualander Shah, a famous Muslim Savant and Sage, who influenced the thinking of his age and was very widely revered by all communities. Within the enclosure are mosque and a reservoir with fountains built by Emperor Alamgir and outside a Kettle Drum balcony.

Tomb of Razia Sultan

Location

A fierce battle between Razia Sultan, the only daughter of Sultan of Delhi, Iltutmish and the rebel forces of Delhi, was fought here. She was reportedly murdered here on November 13, 1240, along with her husband, Ikhtyar Din Altumia. The ruins of Razia Begum's exist on the western periphery of the town. There is also a mosque near her tomb.

Barsi Gate

Location

Built by Alauddin Khilji in Hansi is an important defensive structure just outside the fort and is an outstanding example of how defences were built with architectural finesse. Today it stands in the centre of the bazaar, forming an imposing gate and a part of the imposing wall which forms the outer defence for Hansi. An inscription in Persian on the gate dates it back to AD 1304-5.

Baba Farid's Tomb

Location

The city of Faridabad is believed to have been named after Baba Farid. His 'mazar' (grave) in the town is a popular pilgrimage spot for the local population. The city of Faridabad is believed to have been named after Baba Farid, an eminent Sufi saint. There is a also a belief that it was he who founded Faridabad. His tomb in the town is a popular pilgrimage spot for the local people.

Sheesh Mahal

Location

The Sheesh Mahal in Farukhnagar is a rectangular double-storey building and was built by Fauzdar Khan in AD 1733.
It is so named because of the intricate mirror decorations within. The complex also houses a jail which was used as, well, a jail and a torture chamber.
There are a few other places worth seeing, like Ghaus Ali Shah’s shrine, Delhi Gate and an old mosque.
