Tomb of Shakthan Thampuran, an erstwhile ruler hailed from Kochi kingdom, is located in Thrissur and is a major tourist attraction, especially for the tourists having special interest on history. Shaktan Thampuran was the most powerful Kochi King who ruled the regions covering Thrissur.
The tomb of Shakthan Thampuran is one of the three tombs located inside the Shakthan Tamouran Palace constructed by Ramavarma Thampuaran in 1795. This tomb is at the spot where the mortal remain of King was laid to rest. The architectures is a specimen of the Dutch and Kerala style of architecture.
