Location
This is a peasant / bird breeding centre where many of the rare Himalayan birds are bred. It is also called as Aviary of Himalayan birds and is situated amongst thick forest of pine and deodar trees.
The main attraction of this centre is the Himalayan Monal which is the official state bird of Himachal Pradesh which are bred here along with other species such as Koklass and Kaly.
Western Tagopharant, an endangered bird species locally named as Jajurana is found in India only in Sarahan.
