Mahishadal Rajbari

Location

Mahishadal Rajbari is a huge estate belonging to the 16th century. Within its compounds, there are two palaces and the famous Gopaljew temple. The palaces are maintained in pristine condition with all the antique furniture and wildlife trophies. It is a heritage site worth a visit.

Mahishadal Rajbari is an erstwhile estate of Janardan Upadhyay of Uttar Pradesh. At present, the site has become a major tourist attraction that features a rich collection of stuffed bodies of animals, painting and furniture.

The Mahishadal Raj estate houses two palaces, wherein the old palace was built around 1840 AD. The other palace was put up later in 1937, which is a dwelling place of the successors of the royal family.

One of the attractions at the estate is the famous Goplajew Temple, which is situated in the courtyard.
