Keezhperumpallam temple is known as the temple dedicated to Kethu, the descending phase of moon. Kethu is one of the nine planets as per Hindu mythology. The presiding deity is a form of Lord Shiva known as Nagananthaswamy with his consort Soundaranayagi. There is a holy in the temple premises.
There is no individual shrine for Kethu planet in this temple. Idols of nine planets are placed in which Kethu appears as the one with five folded arms facing the west direction. Worshipping Kethu and presenting offerings are believed to be beneficial. A metallic idol of Kethu along with Nataraja statue is placed at the middle of the central hall.
