The one and only traveler who helped a lot to fetch the fame of Nalanda to the outside world, Hiuen Tsang adorns a prestigious place in the history of entire India. A lot of information is obtained about medieval India from his writings and in fact, India owe much to this scholarly man for his invaluable service.
To commemorate the scholarly figure of yesteryears, one of the halls in the famous Nalanda University has been named after Hiuen Tsang. It is believed that Hiuen Tsang had lived here for 12 years as a teacher and a student. The chastity and perfect educational set up of Nalanda had been found mentioning in his writings. This legendary hall is a remainder of the educational and artistic grandeur of Nalanda University.
