Dhamma Chakra Stupa (Diksha Bhumi)

Location

Dhamma Chakra Stupa, also known as Diksha Bhumi, is an important religious Buddhist monument located at Nagpur. It is at this place in 1956 Dr B R Ambedkar initiated the conversion of thousands of Dalit people to Buddhism. This day is celebrated as Ashok Vijaya Dashmi and on this day thousands of followers of Dr Ambedkar and Buddism join this place to offer floral tributes.

Bohra Masjid

Location

Bohra Masjid is an architecturally constructed beautiful mosque in Shantinagar, Itwari in Nagpur. Bohra Masjid is the mosque for the Dawoodi Bohra community in Nagpur. This mosque attracts many Islam believers from India and abroad. This mosque witnesses huge crowd for the prayers on Fridays.

A large community hall is also enclosed in the premises of Bohra Masjid. This hall is used for community gatherings, celebrations and wedding receptions by the community people.

Sri Balaji and Sri Kartikeya Temple

Location

Sri Balaji and Sri Karitikeya Temple is a Hindu religious destination in Nagpur. It is located at the scenic mount known as Seminary hills. The temple complex enshrines Lord Balaji and Lord Katikeya (Lord Muruga, son of Lord Shiva). This complex is run by Motibagh Shri Skanda Samaj.

The temple is renowned as a hub cultural, artistic and spiritual activities. Much praise worthy cultural and artistic events are held here for promoting harmony and well being among the people. This temple complex witnesses flow of devotees of Balaji and Muruga in most of the days.

Telankhedi Hanuman Temple

Telankhedi Hanuman temple is a famous temple located on the one shore of the Telankadi Lake. The temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and the idol in the temple has a unique attraction. Legends relate the origin of the temple with Lord Rama, who relaxed in a hillock in Nagpur.

The Hanuman Idol in the temple is assumed to have miraculous powers and the devotees visit this temple very often to have prayers. The temple atmosphere is cool and calm and offers a good spiritual environment of mind soothing.

Telankhedi Shiv Temple

Location

Telankhedi Shiva temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in his pristine form is located nearby the famous temple of Hanuman. This is a renowned religious place among the Shiva devotees. A marvelous structure of the Nandi adorns the entrance of the temple. The sanctorum is small but very attractive.

The temple, dates back to many years, is witnessing a huge flow of devotees during the important festival days. Mahashivaratri is celebrated here with many rituals and festivities. Many small shrines of various Hindu Gods are placed in the surroundings.

Haji Ali Shrine

Haji Ali shrine is a tomb dedicated to the Haji Ali, a wealthy merchant turned Muslim Sufi Saint. This is one of the popular religious spots in Mumabi and is located at the coast of Worli. The shrine is placed in the backdrop of roaring sea all around. There is only a small pathway connecting the mainland to the tomb, and in nights these pathways are also covered with water. The tomb is very attractive for its glasswork and the surrounding courtyard offers scenic beauty.

Mahalaxmi Temple

Mahalaxmi Temple, a temple dedicated to Goddess Mahalaxmi the wife of Lord Mahavishnu, is built in 1785 and is located in the Bhulabhai desai Road near worli. This common belief behind the reason for constructing this temple is related to the construction of Hornby Vellard in Mumbai. The construction was collapsed two times and the chief architect dreamt about the Goddess Laxmi statue in the Sea near the place. It is believed that after the temple is built, the construction of the Vellard went on smoothly.

St Thomas' Cathedral

Location

A topmost religious attraction in Mumbai, the St Thomas’ Cathedral is located in the Mumbai fort area in D N Road. The church was constructed in 1718 and has been credited with the privilege of being the first Anglican Church in Mumbai. The name St Thomas cathedral comes from the ardent disciple Thomas of Jesus Christ.

Walkeshwar Temple

Location

Walkeshwar temple, an ancient temple also known as Banganga Temple, is perfectly placed in the scenic surroundings in Malabar hills in South Mumbai. Walkeshwar Temple is dedicated to the main deity Lord Shiva and the legend relates the origin of this temple with Lord Rama and Sita. The temple is built during Silhara Dynasty in 1127 AD and the temple was destroyed during the Portuguese invasion. Later it was renovated by s group of devotees.

Pisharnath Temple

Pisharnath temple is located on the left side of the serene Charlott Lake and is surrounded by lush greeneries. It is a major Hindu Religious destination. The common belief is that the premier deity here has powers to bestow good fortunes on devotees.

The temple is located at the plain of the Charlott lake, the greenish lawns offer a relaxing place for the travelers. One can see the majestic views of the serene lake from the premise of the mandir. The temple location is rich in panoramic sceneries and lusting greeneries.
