Lumbini Park

Location

Lumbini Park is situated a few yards from the famous monolithic Buddha statue of the Hussain Sagar Lake. Lumbini Park is part of the Buddha Poornima Project, and is named after the birthplace of Buddha. A large “clock‿ designed using flowering plants at the entrance welcomes the visitors.

The park is a serene landscape decorated with seasonal flowering plants, rocks and cacti. Children have a lot to be entertained here, including the musical fountain and water cascades. The musical fountain dances to the tunes of popular Hindi and Telugu numbers.

Indira Park

Location

Indira Park is located in the Lower Tank Bund Road of the Hussain Sagar Lake. Named after the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, this one of the oldest parks consists of 76 acres of lush green landscape. Sandalwood trees and date palms grow here in abundance. Musical dancing fountains entertain the visitors to their amazement.

Botanical Garden

Location

An eco-tourist place, the botanical garden is in Madhapur, near the Hi-tech City, approximately 16 kilometers from Hyderabad. The garden sprawls over 120 acres of vegetation. On completion, the garden will possess 19 Vanams, or sectors. The first phase is already completed and opens to public, with 5 sectors, which include medicinal plants, fruit and timber trees, ornamental plants, bamboos, palm trees and aquatic plants.

Cole Park

Location

Situated in the center of the Tezpur, Cole Park is among the most visited attraction in the city. The parks is an an exceptionally picturesque spot that sees tourists almost on all days, but the number jumps up when it hosts a painting exhibition. It has been a venue for such exhibition since long. The park is also called as Chitralekha Udyan and is famous for Bhomaraguri inscription which is the ancient plan for building a bridge across River Brahmaputra. Apart from that you can also indulge in boating in a small lake in front of the park.

Botanical Gardens

Location

The exquisitely landscaped Botanical garden instituted 1982 is situated within the Assam State Zoo. The Garden is spread over an area of 85 hectares and hosts diverse species of herbs, palms, shrubs and conifers. The Orchid house of the Botanical Garden boasts of a collection of more than 40 varieties of rare orchids gathered from the entire North East region of the country. The Orchids represent diverse conditions required by them to sustain their presence.

Mahatma Gandhi Park

Location

Located in the heart of 'cotton city', Mahatma Gandhi Park is an ideal place for meditation. The park has a tint of serenity. Its green lawns, exotic variety of plants and trees make it a nice spot to spend evenings. For children, it has a special playing section, where they can play and can have fun.

Polo Park

Location

In Naharlagun, a Botanical Garden is situated right on the top of a ridge directly straight at the Itanagar city down below. The amusing little botanical garden called the Polo Park is replete with various varieties of flora. Special mention is required for the cane thickets, which have a striking similarity to that of a modified palm containing with spines all over its stem. The difference, however, is that it does not grow like a pine but as small to medium sized bush. The Park also houses a mini zoo where assorted small animals and reptiles are available for viewing.

Nehru Park

Location

Nehru Park Is Situated at the Northern part of the Town situated on a high Tilla Land . It is developed and maintained by the state Govt. It is the most beautifull park covered with natural beauty,fountain,stream, pond . This Park is the most beautifull park among the parks of the North-Eastern states full of flower & rare species of plants.
