Tomb of Shah Wilayat

Location

Just beside the mausoleum of Ibrahim Khan, is the Tomb of Shah Wilayat, a large complex that showcases different styles of architecture, from the Tughluq period to the British era. The original tomb and the complex was constructed by Feroz Shah Tughluq and was re-built later on several times.

Gujari Mahal

Location

Gujari Mahal was constructed by Firoz Shah Tughlaq for his wife Gujari Rani, who belonged to the Gujjar Community. It is believed that during one of his hunting trips, the king came across a Gujjar girl and was impressed by her beauty. He proposed to marry her and the girl accepted the king’s proposal; however, she refused to accompany him to Delhi.

It is said that the queen believed that she might not be treated with equal respect and honour like king’s other wives. So she chose to stay back in Hansi and a palace named Gujari Mahal was constructed by the king for her. The palace stands on a high plinth and has underground chambers along with a baradari.

Kabuli Bagh Masjid

Location

The garden of Kabuli Bagh is situated at a distance of 2 km from the city of Panipat. The most popular feature of this garden is the Kabuli Shah Mosque, built by Babur. This mosque is named after the wife of Babur, Mussammat Kabuli Begum. He built this tomb commemorate his victory over Ibrahim Lodhi.

Alamgir Miran Sahib's Tomb

Location

The tomb of Alamgir Miran Sahib is situated in the southern part of Karnal town. This tomb was built in the memory and honour of a saint Sayad Mohammed. Sayad Mohammed died in 899 AD while rescuing a Brahmin girl from the custody of a Raja in a pitched battle. The premises of this tomb also have a small mosque along with cemeteries of several members of the Mandal family.

Gouripur House

Location

Gouripur House is located at a distance of around 2 kilometre from town on the way to Durpin Dara. Though Kalimpong was a small hill station, but still was favourite place of the great Indian poet, Rabindranath Tagore. On visiting the destination, he stayed at Gouripur House. On 25th April, 1940, it was from this house that he recited the poem "Janamadin". It was done through a telephone system installed in this house that was linked with the All India Radio, located in Kolkata. In addition, he wrote several poems while residing in this house.
