Querim Beach
Keri beach also known as Querim beach, is a quiet beach located to the north of the Arambol beach. It is the northernmost beach of Goa that is backed with palms and casuarinas trees. The white sandy beach is one amongst the lesser-crowded beaches of Goa and is a serene and calm place to spend a beautiful holiday.
Across the riverbank one can also see the famous ancient Portuguese fort known as the Terekhol Fort. There is a ferry service available that takes you to Terekol every 30 min, except at low tide. From the Terekol fort the Keri beach has an exotic view.
The Keri beach can be reached from Arambol and there are a few shacks and restaurants that serve local fresh seafood here. Also for accommodation there are a few thatched huts.
One can also enjoy a lot of water sports at the Querim beach and even go paragliding. The beach however is not safe for swimming and one should avoid swimming near the mouth of the Tiracol estuary.
Querim, also known locally as Keri is the northernmost beach of Goa. It is located at a distance of about 38 kms. from Mapusa and 50 kms from Panaji. It lies at the mouth of the Terekhol River on the southern bank. Across the river lies the Terekhol Fort up upon a hillock overlooking the river estuary. One can take a ferry to reach the fort from the beach. The view from the fort is definitely worth a visit. The beach is dotted with many pine trees. The waters here are clear and the beach is serene and calm as not many houses and shacks are located here.
