Maibong

Location

Located on the bank of the river Mahur and 53 km from Haflong. Maibang once flourished as the capital of Dimasa, Kachari Kingdom. Stone house & temple of Kachari king & other ruins of the kingdom are the main attractions of the place.
Maibong was once the capital of the Dimasa Kachari Kingdom. Its ruins lie on the banks of Mathur River, 47 kilometers off Haflong. A temple and stone house of the kingdom still exist here.

Maibong, the medieval capital of the Dimacha kingdom and the earlier capital of Kachari Kingdom of Assam, is a popular tourist attraction in the vicinity of Silchar. Known for its scenic beauty, Maibong is also famous for its Ramchandi Temple.
