A symbol of divine love and affection, the Chathri of Maharaja Gangadhar Rao allures the tourist with its unique charm. Situated in the Lakshmi Tal, this chathri was constructed by Rani Lakshmi Bai in memory of her beloved husband Gangadhar Rao.
Though built in the year 1853, this glorious cenotaph of the erstwhile king of Jhansi withstood the trappings of time. The carvings on the twelve pillars and the curved roof supporters show the artistic magnificence of early nineteenth century. Its elegant appeal attracts large gathering and now a days this monument has become one of the favourite hot spot of the tourists in Jhansi.
